I first looked at this post and kinda said. Well GG is now going off his rocker, and will really get anything. But I just had to come back and look at the thing. Ya know it is kinda neat! I can see an apeal to getting one. Very slick, sleek and clean in design. I actually think I wi9ll get one this weekend.

If you're looking for carabiners, go for the real thing. Try Omega Pacific or for the Europeans, CAMP

Carbon fiber is kinda poser for climbing gear...

(Too brittle for shock loads)

The size is approx. 3-1/2" long by 1-7/8" wide. Like I said, perfect for keychain use.

Not trying to be hardnosed, it's just that for a lot less dosh, you can buy the real thing in a twistlock.

IMO, getting a carbon fiber 'biner is about as sensible as buying a knife with a 24 carat gold blade--attractive in a way, but not really practical.

Cool... You have an opinion.

A real carabiner weighs too much for the average keychain. Take this as a keychain gizmo and that's all. Sorry you don't like it, but I do believe we get that you don't like it. Like I said, I'll keep my future posts to items under $5.

I get the carbon fiber thing, I ride a Ducati--believe me I get it.

A sawbuck for a CF 'biner seems pretty high, esp considering that where the wiregate attaches, it will oval out the CF pretty fast if you're opening/closing it.

I have been looking for something like this for years! I love real good quality carabiners, but they are just too heavy for my needs. This fits the bill perfectly. I'll probably go sell a lung and buy a couple more of them.

Im a cyclist and have paid shameful amounts for carbon fiber goodies. Too bad my closest REI is 80 miles away. I like to see my gadget purchases in person.
