Great thread!
Depending on projected use:
1) Compact (although if I had a Voyageur I think I would usually use it instead).  It's my "going out where there may be drinking but not much working involved" slide into my pocket knife
2) Farmer X
3) The modern GAK.  I think it's a Trekker?

For the past year:

Keychain - Rambler
EDC - Spartan
Suit Carry - Waiter

I do have hopes though for a planned mod to make a Corkscrew Manager, might become my EDC if all goes well.

Want to see this one!

Are you planing to cut a hole in the scale like the Spirit has and use the Spirit corkscrew? One scale alox, one scale cellidor for the pen? That's what pops in my mind how to solve it.

That's an idea I had too, but I'm worried that alox won't be solid enough to bear the pulling action. I'd love to be proven wrong, please let us know how it goes.

1. Classic - had one on my keychain for over 40 years now.  My preference is orange in case I ever drop my keys.  It's like flagging tape with tools.
2. Evogrip - I know many don't like the lock mechanism release but the knife has all I want.  It's at hand in my office at all times.
3. Forester - big knife, all the right tools.  Mine was free.

The Rambler / (Midnite-) Manager model is mentioned the most here(15x).
Same tool body with different scales.

My top three are:

1. Alox Cadet - perfect gentleman's daily carry
2. Recruit - great choice for all around carry
3. Craftsman - in my opinion the best balance of size and tools; everything you need, nothing you don't.

Ranger, Farmer and Hunter? That is a lot of overlapping tools. Why do you carry all of them?

That's a reasonable thing to ask.

It's several combining reasons.

1. It's what I have right now....
2. I haven't budgeted to buy something that would combine the features I need in one knife.... (I buy all my knives used and usually only buy ones I can resell at a profit)
3. Somebody gave me the Farmer and I love carrying it, even though it overlaps with a lot of other knives....
4. I have absolutely no problem carrying multiple knives around with me... I'm over 300 lbs, and an extra pound or two of stainless steel goes unnoticed....
5. I do make use of having multiple knives on me since I have them...the Farmer has become the keyring for the sawmill, so once I'm milling for the day, it's in the ignition, and I grab another knife to cut things with....sometimes I hand a knife off to somebody to go complete a task and come back later.....etc.
6. I love knives and I love to use them, and compare how different features work on different knives.....
7. Because it's ours, Preshiousss, and we wants to....  ;)

Ok, I am going to put the Fieldmaster up on the list. When I was looking at tool sets in a pocketable knife it checked all the boxes and is my most carried Victorinox.

1. Fieldmaster
2. Farmer
3. Rucksack

Honourable mention goes to the Hiker

You know what intrigues me about the Fieldmaster....?   That it can be a Huntsman.  Obviously, there's only one tool that's different... But.... The BSA Huntsman is actually a Fieldmaster.   I don't know why, but that's intriguing.

That is interesting. I wonder why they didn’t just call it the BSA Fieldmaster?

I am not a big fan of the corkscrew for most day to day activities as I am a construction worker and not a big wine drinker. I am more likely to come across a Philips that needs tightening or loosening. I use the 2D Philips to do most of the work and the back side 3D to break free or give a final tighten to the screw.

My good friend and hunting mentor carries a Huntsman and recently I have been thinking of picking one up and adding the Fireant kit to the corkscrew or mixing and matching the Fireant and Firefly. Firefly in the toothpick slot, tinder from the Fireant and the microdriver in the corkscrew. I do use the toothpick though. Both in the conventional manner, to pick my teeth, and also to get to a few hidden features. Under my saw I have tucked a sewing needle wrapped in thread and a couple of chunks of the firestarter strand of firecord that result from cutoffs. Waste not want not. I suppose I could use the tweezers to access those items and as long as I have a blade and a chunk of wood I can make a toothpick.

I'm so torn... on one hand, you like to see your favorites similarly cherished by others.    Swiss Champ, Farmer X, Manager... such gems indeed at the top.

But my heart aches seeing some of the greatest at the bottom... 1 vote for Explorer, Tinker Small (a MacGuyver favorite, for crying out loud!), Craftsman... 2 for Super Tinker, Handyman... :twak:

I'm not a fan of anything 84mm, but evidently some people are. I put a Tinker Small on eBay last night and BAM it was sold in less than an hour. Guess I should have asked more....but I can't seem to sell 91mm Tinkers at that price.....
