I think I’ve got 19 tools (tenuously but I’m claiming it ) into 2 layers here. (13 is blank due to a repeat) No large blade but I’m kinda liking it!! 1. Small blade2. Metal file3. Nail file4. Micro screwdriver? Where?
Metal toothpick. We need pics! (Hah, pic(k)s, pun intended)
It's an interesting toolset indeed. I really like the idea of a 91 mm SAK without a large blade. This opens up a lot of possibilities. It's weird that everyone talks about whether or not you need the opener layer and nobody talks about whether you actually need the large blade.

Cool tool set. Do you use it as an EDC? If so, alone or in a combo with another knife?I have noticed that I use the large blade almost exclusively for preparing food; for almost all other cutting jobs I use the small blade.
There's a lot to like with that mod!

For one thing, obviously there are current production SAKs made with and without the opener layer. However, to the best of my knowledge, there are no current production 91mm SAKs made without the large blade, so discussion of whether or not it is needed is moot for anything except mods. For another, folks who don't want the large blade may be simply gravitating toward smaller (than 91mm) SAKs, rather than ruminating about whether the large blade is necessary on a 91mm SAK.
But more importantly - what are you going to call it!?
Here :0) I made this metal toothpick which has the eyeglass screwdriver at the tip and now resides in this knife
This is a good point - I’ll have to give that some serious thought....
Cool mod! I’m curious about how well the knife and metal saw clear each other. Also, two more tools could be easily added using vintage parts. The scraper type wire stripper in the cap lifter. And the can key. Cutting open the 3rd slot on a plus scale could add one more...like a Firefly. Might have to build one myself! 23 tools in two layers.
I definitely wanted everything else to be in the 91mm frame for this. The small blade is sufficient for pretty much everything I need day to day and the small blade is very unthreatening for an EDC for a area like the UK so works well on those fronts. I like a large blade but also like 2 layers so was interested to see what the possibilities were. Quite extensive it appears
I’m going to call it...The Fil(e)ing Cabinet!
