MXBS Australian Army Version
on: November 25, 2021, 09:26:36 AM
Just saw this, might be interesting for the collectors here
"BO", OHO, no CC, a variant I have not seen before.

It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Very interesting, I’d not come across that the MXBS is being issued to the Australian Army before, but a quick search and I’ve found it locally. Very wise to come back to the Swiss Tool again IMO, thanks for the info :tu:

Here’s my older version with NSN

I don't understand why the OHO devices are always on the normal blades and NOT on the belt cutter blades.
The belt cutter blade is THE blade you want to open ASAP in case of emergency. All other tools can wait.

I've seen pictures and videos of it. Where did they get it from? I've waited and waited, and it's still nowhere.

I'm keen for one too, and share your frustration!!! Oz Vic Importers have not given me any more info than earlier this year. We may need some help from the Northern Hemisphere inmates, happy to share postage if more are willing on the tools.

Pete

As far as I can tell it is on the regular blade AND the belt cutter.
I ordered one, so I can tell you for this particular model once it arrives. I also have a stainless one at home, will check tonight but I think it is the same.

Just checked my B/O one and I can confirm that the OHO is on the main blade AND the belt cutter  :tu:

It's a cracking little MT and VERY well made (I would love a Surge sized version though Vic'  :pok:)
I can also vouch for Elsinox as a thoroughly decent human without whom I would be...erm; without   :drink:

If by "CC" you mean Cap Crimper then no, it doesn't. It was however, bought with a CC (Credit Card )

TBH as I no longer do EOD type stuff I find little need for the former CC but lately (since MTO) much more of the latter  :pok:

Thanks for the pictures!
What I in fact tried to tell is that IMHO it would be best to put the OHO device ONLY on the Belt Cutters and NOT on the other blades, because the Belt Cutters is the only tool you really need in case of emergency.
However, what a beautiful special Spirit!

You're welcome  :tu:

I can see your point about the belt cutter but when I do SAR stuff I need a blade as much as a belt cutter  :dunno:

If it was bigger (111mm size) then maybe you could have a combo blade like the Rescue Tool (also used for SAR)

I would still love a Surge/SwissTool sized OHO version  :tu:  :dd:
