A guy I worked with told me he had a bunch of "army knives" which is a pretty promising thing to hear for a "knife guy" like me.  So he eventually dug them out and brought them in...total GARBAGE.  QVC garbage to be exact..

Among them was one or two of the hollow handle "RAMBO" knives ::), along with some horrible hunting knives and kringeworthy kukris, wobbly wharncliffs and sucky swords.. :P

In my opinion there the best heavy duty blade out there :)

Certainly there one of the few knives I'd happily trust my life too :)

This is the one.

I'd say that would suit you down to the ground mate, as it's a lot of blade, but the weight will be about the same as one of your Hawks :)

I was looking at the rajah II but I'm worried that the folding aspect might ruin the whole purpose of a kukri.

Those are good words Hawkchucker. However, some times a simple, economic choice like a KA-BAR, or an ontario knife marine raider are the best for you, and your wallet.

Ya know the Kbar never did it for me. Carried one for years in the corp. and hated the darn thing. It allways broke opening crates of ammo and dragon crates. That is why I went to the CS SRK. never looked back.

Some folks swar by the standard issue Kabar...did it break in the same place all the time?

I always wanted one just to "have one" I guess, I really like the look of the stacked leather handle Kabars..

I owned a SRK for a while, and that thing seemed indestructable!

Yup but they die at the choil every time. I can stand on my SRK after putting into a wall, but the Kbar jsut never could take the punishment. i guess that is why it is issue for BUDS!

True, but compare the kbar's cost to the srk's cost. You could go through 2
or 3 kbars (if you're a good dealhunter) with the same amount of $ it takes to buy an srk

kinda morbid but good!
