Leather dice tray
on: July 08, 2022, 07:03:17 PM
For those of you who enjoy RPG or boardgames, don't you just hate it when you have to roll one or twenty (Shadowrun RPG) dice and they just go everywhere, knocking pieces out of the board, falling to the ground and whatnot?

    :twak: :twak:

Well, I had that problem. So, I got a square piece of leather, punched a few (eight) holes in it, got some snap buttons and problem solved!

 :tu: :tu:

After use, it can be "taken apart" and rolled into a more portable format or even kept flat inside a boardgame box.

  :salute:

Thanks! I'm thinking of making some grooves, to help it keep the form when in use. Going to wait and see if it's needed or not.

I have been thinking about doing one too for a long time, but not for games, but I have to say it's a great idea! I'm mostly para9about forgetting stuff after being in a Hotell or cabin and figured that if I put all my stuff in one of those I know when I have packed everything before leaving

Go ahead, they're easy to make. When not in use, put them flat in the bottom of your suitcase, they take up no space.

I use something similar myself, although I can’t claim to have made it myself. Respect for the skillz!  :salute:

Looks great!

I use a roll up mat with a pouch in it that acts as a back stop when I roll physical dice, but this looks like a good solution too!

Nothing like rolling damage for a Fireball and getting d6s everywhere

It’s the sneak attack damage that does for me. Too much excitement…

Rarely do my Rogues get high enough for that to be a problem!

5E player perhaps?

I love this forum! I started playing in the Stranger Things era when everyone thought we were eating babies, then got back into it with 4e when I introduced my sons to the wonder it provides. We had the sense to move on to 5e when it dropped.

Now though, my boys are returning the favour by exposing me to all sorts: Cyberpunk Red, 5 Rings, The Witcher, Savage Worlds. They’re even threatening to Pathfinder me, but I don’t know if I’m ready for that. It’s hard to do fantasy with anything other than D&D - although the Witcher is interesting for a change.

I've started with the very first D&D box. Went through a lot of systems. AD&D, Cthulu, Vampire, Bushido, Ars Magica, Shadowrun, Cyberpunk, Warhammer 40k, Apocalypse World and a few more.

My favourites are Shadowrun and Cyberpunk.
