True story....

A high school senior was having a great deal of trouble writing a poetry assignment. He spoke to the teacher and was told that if he turned in a “roses are red” poem, he would receive a failing grade. He replied he was terrible with writing poetry and asked the teacher for advice. She told him, “If your poem can evoke an emotion - love, sadness, joy, grief...anything - in me, I’ll give you an “A.”

He turned in a poem a few days later that read:

Roses are red
Bacon is red
Writing poems is hard
Bacon!


He received an “A.”

I thought the bacon lovers in this thread would enjoy this story.

'm a one-meat kinda person too.  I'm not a fan of "meat lovers" pizzas, with sausage, bacon, pepperoni, etc. I like one or two toppings, but generally like plain cheese pizza like Kevin from Home Alone.

You know... I actually dont like bacon on pizza.  I find it too overpowering.   :facepalm:  I know... I'll see myself out.

Pepperoni Pineapple is my favorite pizza combination.  I know we are in a bacon thread and it is supposed to be ham or bacon and pineapple, but pepperoni is so good.

Didn't have specific lunch plans and ended up making a potato and bacon pancake (sort of a riff on a Rösti) for lunch:





Needed a bit more bacon, but the flavor was there. Sauce is sour cream and ketchup....with some cayenne for goodness.

I’ve been EDCing a granola bar for a couple of years now... its a habit I recently picked up from my mom, who’s done it as long as I can remember.  It used to be a backup snack for when you feel like you’ll drop if you don’t eat something (not a common occurrence). But in the last year its been the only thing I eat for lunch. In the last 5 months or so, I don’t even eat that.  :dunno:
But I digress.  A bacon butty is certainly an upgrade over a granola bar. Maybe a new trend.
