The Leatherman Ratchet Driver Owners Club
on: April 19, 2021, 01:30:33 AM
As the title says, this is the owners club for the best accessory that I think LM has came out with in a while :woohoo:

I couldn't wait any longer and went ahead and ordered one  :D

I ordered this one from REI and it showed up in the mail Friday  I am going to either pocket carry, sheath carry or backpack carry this accessory for a while and see how I goes :tu:

It is really gonna make my Charge knife an even better screwdriver than it is now :o I like the bit extender as well but it still functions the same as when there is just a bit in. The ratchet makes the bit driver a completely different tool functionality wise

Excited to see how this goes :woohoo:

So let's see them if you have one :pok: :D

This is a tool I’m considering, so I’m going to keep any eye on this thread.

Just to try it out, I had to look for something to use it on

Tightened a couple screws that were just a little loose :D

It worked very well :tu: :like:

Keep recalling a finger ratchet mod that a lot of us tried out. They had a bad habit of becoming unusable if bearing down to tighten or remove a stuck screw. Hope Leatherman's version is more beefier? Where is it made? Does it state a warranty?

Ouch.

:iagree: :ahhh but it seems to be made very well and if so, will be worth it in the long run :salute:

It has a 2 year warranty  not as good as other LM tools for sure but longer than a lot of other tools that I own :tu:

Seems pretty robust to me and the ratchet system sounds better than some ratchet screwdrivers that I own and seems smoother as well :like:

Took me a bit to find the older Evil's post of using a Finger Ratchet mod. They look similar. Am assuming Leatherman tried theirs out before releasing it? Hope it's not made in China or their affiliates.

Have you tested it out bearing down on something or removing a really stuck-in screw yet? That's not feathers I see is it??

I forgot to look at the box for place of manufacturer  Will get it back out later and see :salute:

I only use my bit driver when a battery impact driver isn't handy or it is an odd fastener end at work  At home I am more likely to run into a stubborn fastener, that hasn't happened yet  I have only had it for a few days though and it should get put through some paces in the next month or so :tu:

No worries. Would be reluctant if you had used the finger ratchet thing before.  :D

That pic takes me back I made that ratchet a long time ago.  I still have it. I bought the new Leatherman ratchet it’s better than the one I made but I think it’s still a finesse tool it works but don’t push it to hard.

Yeah, it’s basically a ratcheting screwdriver which shouldn’t be confused with a ratchet.

Glad to hear that the older one you made is still going  Also very glad to hear that the new LM one is better :salute: Any way we can get some side by side comparison pics and a write up with the differences, Mike

Bit kits are obsession of mine I have a pouch that has a master kit that works with a lot of my multitools and SAKs. I carry it in my bag. I also carry a Wave in a pouch that is packed with goodies Yesterday I was not feeling well later this morning I will post some picks.

This is my master bit kit I carry I my bag it works with SAKs, leatherman tools with that use flat bits other multitools that use bits, and 1/4 impacts.

These are some bit drivers and extenders that work with flat bits, 1/4 bits, and 4mm bits.

That is some very nice kit, Mike :o Thanks for sharing :like:

I bought them from country com years ago. A sharpie case and Leatherman flat bit adapter makes a nice flat screwdriver plus you can store extra bits in the handle.

I remember you doing that years ago with the Sharpie and the adapter :tu: It is a good idea and anything you can do to be self sufficient and compact is always great :like:

The way County Comm is, I would say those are long gone then :ahhh
