Bought a winter coat today and the sales staff forgot to remove one of the security tags (for some reason, there were two tags on the coat). When I came home, I noticed the second tag on the coat but I didn't want to go all the way back downtown for a third time today just to have the store remove it so I googled and found out how to remove the tag myself. To make a long story short, I learned that some clothing security tags have ink inside them that will burst if you tried to forcefully pry the tag off so I somehow needed to remove the center mechanism delicately. Rather than risk rupturing the ink vial by blasting through the plastic tag with my rotary tool, I decided to try my PowerLock's awl as a manual auger and it worked like a charm. Any other type of awl probably wouldn't have worked but SOG's chiseled awl was perfect. It "drilled" into the plastic tag delicately and I was able to remove the mechanism without damaging the coat.
I also found out afterwards that this particular tag didn't have ink inside it.

This is called a Swiss Army Knife. Do you know what Switzerland is? Switzerland is a place where they don't like to fight, so they get people to do their fighting for them while they ski and eat chocolate. - Larry David
