Is this normal/something that you see from time to time?

Hi All, I just received my second PST. It is in pretty perfect condition except that the curved section of the two handles do not line up (see pictures). Wondering if this is a normal cosmetic issue on these tools? I have to say it kind of bothers me visually on the otherwise good looking tool, but maybe I’m being too picky. What do you all think…would this bother you? Is it something that you see on these tools? I’ve not noticed this on the pics I’ve looked at. Tool dated 07/96 - 09/96.

As many of these that were made I am sure there are plenty out there like that

It always needs to be remembered that these were made as tools, first and foremost, and not as much man jewelry

At least the older models were

Something that doesn't affect function doesn't bother me and only adds character to the tool

It can happen, however the question is how much does it bother you.
If you will always look at it as an issue or eyesore then you may want to get different one.
There are several around, many unused.

Thanks for the response. Although I understand that it was only a cosmetic issue, visually the uneven lines bothered me enough that I focused on them every time a I looked at the tool. So, it was returned in the mail today. I figured as you wrote, since it would continue to bother me I’d return it and look for another. I really like the clean lines of the PST. It’s one of the main reasons I wanted one.

Good question as to how many would have that same "issue". Good you returned it. It was not going away and would bother you. I bet you can find one that doesn't set off your aesthetic sense.
