Um, ok I havent read the whole thread yet but here's my opinion upon parsing this out.

You HAVE an issued Pro Scout you can use. You are allowed to ask for another Gerber. You have an OG Surge currently in use. You GAVE AWAY a Wave and a Charge, so you must not have thought much of them. Maybe you regret that decision, as evidenced by the link you inserted to the Charge. Maybe your giving them away in the first place tells you everything you need to know?

So, go with the P4. See what it's about. If you dont like it, sell it and get the Charge.

Just finished the thread. Obviously you will not be disappointed in another Surge!. I havent been around much and wasnt aware of the spotty reviews of the Free. Too bad the Charge is out of Stock.

But I love my Surge. If I wasn't working in an IT/office setting all day, if I was outside all the time, Surge would be my choice, at least in a backpack, but maybe even on belt instead of the Rebar
