I have to agree that this is a stupid idea. The blade locks but the tools don’t. What an asinine idea. It’s still not legal in a lot of places and yet you don’t have a lock for tools to make them more usable. It makes absolutely no sense. Especially with the addition of the awl.

This reminds me of the original Wave that was designed this way. I didn’t like that one either and just carried a Supertool.

I just don’t understand the target group. It’s not European and it’s not really American. The pricing is also ridiculous if it’s only $10 less than the Wave.

The Bond was a good idea even though I have no use for it, but this one doesn’t make sense to me.

It'll be interesting to see what it's like in the hand and I can't really come to a proper conclusion until then. I get what you're saying, but on first appearances I really do like the simplicity of the design and that it harks back in some ways to the OG Wave, that along with the PST, Sideclip and Kick are probably my most favourite Leatherman models, none of them had locking tools and like others have already said, wasn't really an issue for me.

But, like I said, I do get the irony you're pointing out though...
