Day 15

Not trying to break in to my own house although it does look like it
I’d just pushed the window closed when I went out and because of the Velcro’d fly screen inside it’s actually easier to just pull it back open, used the bomber to get a little purchase

Find that I very much fall into the “use the blade the most” camp so it’s been getting plenty of use. I really like the extra size it offers over the Vic 58mm blade but miss the tools …think after this I’m going to carry both on my keys

Day 14

I had a tool "fail" today.  I was going to remove the bottom cover from a laptop today, and the torx screw was deep in a recessed hole.  My new screwdriver was too fat and the bit was just a too short.  :(

DAY 15  I took the plastic off a CD for my wife, but didn't take a pic.     So here's the Knipex showing it's svelte shape compared to a Signal.

Yeah, I had myself convinced that I wasn't going to buy anything else for awhile because I completed my "wish list'.  It's like trying to kick drugs when you hang out with addicts.

So, I'm opening my latest toy...

The ratcheting screwdriver is out of stock
https://www.amazon.com/Xiaomi-Screwdriver-Ratchet-Precision-Cartridges/dp/B088NPVDST

Here's the mini ratchet kit
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MVNQ2KZ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2WRUBMLJPZ2AL&psc=1

The Xiaomi Wiha ratcheting screwdriver has disappeared completely from amazon.us for some reason.
It was available a month ago, but I thought I'd better order it from amazon.com.au to get it faster. And now it's gone. Not even listed as "out of stock". It's gone.

I have that effect on things I am interested in buying.  The same goes with parking spots.

Posting early today.  I have been using my new knife, and I liiike it.  I open a lot of packages, and sheepsfoot blade seems ideal for that.  It sliced this box open quickly...

Holy cow! I had no idea they now want $90 each Rich :ahhh

I got 3 for $50 on the Kickstarter project so assumed they were about $25 each and I scored a free one for being an early backer

I kept two and gave one away, was thinking about getting some more as gifts but won’t be now, that’s outrageous. They’re cool but not $90 each cool

I was away from my computer for three days. Oooooooooo!

Used my Spyderco Roadie to slice paper into strips for binder spine labels (at work), trimmed my toenails (fun!) with my keychain scissors, and probably some minor stuff I do on autopilot, like opening envelopes or whatever.

Of course I left it in my desk at work Of course I did. This is what it looks like, anyway.

Despite its diminutive size and odd blade shape, the Roadie is magical.

The default on the website is buy two get one free, so three for $90, to buy one is $45.

For 440C and what I assume to be a steel frame lock that's incredibly over priced still

Nothing particularly noteworthy today, so I will post a picture of my spork.

Note the missing biner gate. It kept getting snagged on things, and made it harder to clean, so I unceremoniously ripped it out with some pliers.

I usually use this spork for almost everything, but I've been living without it for this challenge. It is, after all, a multitool of sorts.

I'm not sure a spork needs a bottle opener, but it hasn't impeded any other functions yet. I'm looking forward to using this bad boy again in February.

Today, I helped demo a kitchen. The cabinets, counters, and tile were all on the chopping block. Pow! Bang!

As some might remember, I used to work in commercial construction. Apart from my co-workers, the part I miss most is the wanton destruction. My tool bag is still always ready to go, though with the couple years we've had, it hasn't been out much lately. So this was exciting!

Tool bag!

The impact driver removed door hardware, the sawzall cut out around plumbing fixtures, and the skill saw did a whole lot of Safety Third sawing jobs. A co-conspirator used my Rovyvon Aurora A7 to check out a bunch of mysterious pipes in the wall before we got started. We needed a very small wood saw for a couple minor cuts; fortunately, another co-conspirator borrowed the Farmer X from my truck to do that while I was doing something else, and I don't think watching someone else use a multitool counts as cheating. We used my 5K square-faced sledgehammer (not pictured) a few times for the upper cabinets (stabbing upward rather than swinging down).

The real winners were Big Red and the Mini-Persuader. That bog-standard red prybar and inexpensive four-pound mini-sledge are savage beasts.

A co-conspirator had more types of pliers and plumbing tools than I did, as well as a reasonably overlapping set of power tools, so we were quite prepared.

There were several situations in which a multitool would have sped up smaller jobs (outlet screws, slicing lino, etc.), but most of this was dedicated tool work anyway, so I hardly suffered.

I am feeling just fine. I have no symptoms, so just waiting for a negative result.
I was hoping to get to go outside and use my dedicated tools, not do a 30 Day Isolation Challenge. :(

Get well soon! Unfortunately, I know how that feels.

It’s good that you don’t have any symptoms. All of us got hammered with flu-like symptoms.
