MORALE CRISIS!

I was getting ready to make myself some orange drink, and realized the ones I bought have artificial sugar. Not the end of the world, but I always feel like it leaves a funny aftertaste. Had a piece of gum to keep spirits up. Comic attached.

That looks like a breakfast designed by the Sarlacc!
That's correct!

Forgotten to pack some coffee may have made this day a little longer than usual, but I half heartedly want to see whether I could survive this one. :D

Coffee 1100

Kickstarting our brains with some coffee. Vítor added some sugar (organic, this time, but he likes the brown one). And one more cheese for him.

A little bit of Green milk tea to lift the moral in afternoon.  Forgotten to pack some coffee may have made this day a little longer than usual, but I half heartedly want to see whether I could survive this one. :D

Lunch Update

Ate my dessert first. I've come to appreciate the jelly ones more since TK got bought out. I think the traditional iced ones are drier than they used to be. Tuna pack was fine. Rounded it out with a couple more handfuls of peanuts.

Dinner: plant based Indian curry.
Wait...am I the only one seeing the elephant in the room?  What's that alien looking thing at the background? :o  Curious mind wants to know!!!  :pok: :pok: :pok:

Breakfast:

2x oat bars- Tasty, not super filling.
Peanuts- Also tasty, helped round things out.
Tea- Heated water on the Coleman stove and held the teabag w/  GA1dad's corkscrew trick.

Approximate calories: 400

Neat teabag trick!  :tu:

Breakfast (0800-ish):

Thought of SOS24 and pulled out me old Coleman stove. 36ºF (2.22º C) this morning and it took a while (i.e. loooooong time, "where's the coffee!!!") to get the military mug up to a boil. A pot that fit the stove better would likely have gotten to the boil faster. And a lid would have helped.....

(Image removed from quote.)

Accessory packet got opened up for 1) the matches to light the stove, 2) condensed milk packet (best by 2018), and 3) the awl-important spork.

(Image removed from quote.)

Breakfast packet looked pretty good, but I wasn't feeling all that hungry:

(Image removed from quote.)

Just made oatmeal with raisins and the much anticipated coffee.

(Image removed from quote.)

The oatmeal thickened up a bit as the raisins and oats sat in the rapidly cooling water. Coffee stayed nice and warm in the insulated mug.
That toothbrush in the kit is golden.  I don't remember where I read it, but one may not excel in what he does, but he must look good at all times!  :D

Looks like he is having a good time too!  Does he get to keep the SAK with him?  I so looking forward to share my hobbies with my little guy some day.

Chow Day 1815

I pack a lot lighter than last time, or maybe it was the lack of caffeine, I felt hungry and groggy towards the evening.  So I started digging into my ration bag and got dinner going.  Dinner included a self-heating "Ha Di Lao" spicy hotpot(highly recommend it, especially if you are into spicy food) and another ramen noodle.  The hotpot got good flavor, and I did get sense of fullness due to all the spicy oil floating on top.  But in terms of long term nutrition value, it's probably counterproductive since you are not going to ingest enough.  I only finished half of the ramen.

Chow Day 2315

Celebrating the end of challenge with a sweet tea and some crunch.  Hope y'all have a fun day of chow too!

I gave one "My First Victorinox" to him at age of six (If my memory is correct).
Now he also have a beautifull Signature lite with silvertech scales (from Nix).
And a Huntsman from his grandpa.
In the Sak lanyard he have a scary pumpkim to remember one challenge that we did together.
I began to share my hobbies with him at early age. And since then he's my partner in every cool things!

Lunch 1300

Well... My boy loves bacon .
Pictured, the chunk of bacon that he selected for his GSMRE, and I forgot to put in the assembly picture.
For lunch we got rice with "funghi secchi", portuguese sausage, bacon. And grape Tang! Food easy to cook in one pot.
The Wenger SI (from the Soldier Challenge) helped in the preparation

For a minute I thought that was breakfast.....
Hence the question about 0001 start or after get up.  When you go to bed -4am, midnight is late night snack time.

Breakfast is usually two parts.  Here is part one of today’s chow day breakfast.

Those old Coleman stoves are amazing for being 30+ years old.

That looks like a Humangear bowl?

I much prefer a little real sugar than artificial sweeteners.  I can do a little stevia, but think even that still leaves an after taste.

After overeating yesterday  this is a great change of pace! Breakfast is a tasty peanut butter Clif bar, followed by a tuna meal lunch. I snacked on another Clif bar about 20 minutes ago.  It's actually really good!  Dinner will be a salmon meal, chased down with some instant coffee ☕

Breakfast part 2

This is a fairly typical routine.  Fisher and I make oatmeal and coffee outdoors.  Even a picture of Fisher supervising.

Interesting breakfast.

Over the last year I have changed a lot of what and when I eat.
I try not to snack after dinner, skip breakfast and lunch if possible.
If lunch is needed then it's things like bacon and eggs or avocados.
Coffee was the hardest thing to stop.
Hot chocolates will be the next thing to go.

What burner do you use there?

The Kovea Spider.
Has good stability, remote canister that can invert, works good at higher altitudes.
