Ascent Handyman Multi-tool.

Probably one of the better deals to be had on the Amazon.ca website was this Ascent multi-tool for $35 dollars Canadian. I bought this thinking I was curious at this homage to the Leatherman Wave/Charge/Surge style. It caught my eye. I was a bit amazed at the quality of this tool however. The pliers are spring loaded, and there appears to be no defects to them either. The tools are all locking. The 4 larger tools via a liner lock. The other smaller tools via a plastic locking mechanism...the only sign I could tell of its budget status. Everything came sharp, and there is a good heft to this one as well. No included sheath however. I am a bit amazed at the fell of quality in this 35 dollar tool. Love the scissors. There is a trick that activates the spring mechanism...and that involves pushing back on the scissors a little. I can't complain about this one. Good value for money spent.

I have this design marketed under the "A-Tech" name. I paid around $10 US, but I have to admit, it's one of just a tiny handful of lower-grade tools I've bought that performed well.

Too bad you can't buy it for $10 US anymore, or even $20 US. At those prices it is a bargin, especially with the proper bit adapter.
And it is still a good buy at $35 Canadian

Yeah, I like mine. Chako, are you sure those black pieces are plastic? They are metal on mine.

You are correct. I tool a closer look at them and they are indeed metal. They do look like plastic at first glance though.
