Day 01
You guys with your organizers make it look easy.  I wear cargo shorts at home and cargo pants when I'm working so I have enough pockets for everything but sometimes I can't remember which pocket something might be in.  So, this challenge really isn't much different from my daily carry. The only extra items on the list are the 2 smaller SAKs and I usually only carry 1 dedicated knife, either a folder or a fixie, not usually both.  I don't usually carry a fidget. I usually just play with my knives and have the bandages to prove it.  For this challenge I'm considering the one piece tools on my keys to be my fidgets but I can always carry an MTO challenge coin if the one piece tools are judged inadequate for the purpose.  I always have 2 pens, the dual tip Sharpie, and a compact ballpoint that also serves as a stylus.  The lighter today is a Korean copy of a Zippo.  I hope I didn't miss anything.

The Gear List

Pliers based                   Spirit
91mm                             Swiss Champ
84mm                             Wenger serrated Highlander
58mm                             Classic SD
Fixed Blade                    Brisa Necker 70
Dedicated folder           Spyderco Dragonfly
Torch                               Nitecore P-12  (daylight edition)
Pen(s)                              Dual tip Sharpie and a compact ballpoint
Sanitary item                 bottle of hand sanitizer clipped to my keys
Fire lighting                   Zippo or similar lighter
Fidget                             Gerber Shard on Keys or MTO challenge coin
Watch                              Citizen EcoDrive
Kerchief or Bandanna              Handkerchief, basic white.

Excellent carries. I think the fidget has to have no other functions other than a fidget item  however I could be wrong

The fidget doesn't have to be entirely single function, but it can't count for one of your other categories. Like I play with knives constantly, but they wouldn't count as my fidget for the challenge  :tu:

Both! :D

Good call!  That's a RovyVen Aurora flashlight, I think they OEM for the Nitecore Tiki.
The hygiene item is a small spray bottle of alcohol(which I do lug everywhere, whenever I am out); I'd be sure I include that tomorrow!

I think so as long we have five or more participants completed the challenge, we could apply a new badge for the challenge.  If you prefer, I definitely could help to draft up some badge designs for this challenge towards the end.

Oh nice I haven't seen a Rovyvon with that style button, whilst not as stylish (IMO) It'd be a lot easier to press reliably!

How do you find spraying alcohol (isopropyl?) for disinfection purposes? I was tempted to pick up some pocket sized atomizers but wasn't sure how much of a hassle it is vs using a wipe.

I would really appreciate your help with the badge! I'm not an artist myself and I know you need to make two different versions. You're a star Comis

Nice loadout! :tu:

Day 0

I thought it might be helpful to show a photo of my pants, which have a lot of pockets. 1-8 are on the left side, 9-16 are on the right. 6, 7, 14, and 15 are hidden and accessed by lifting the flaps for 5 and 13. Hopefully the presence of 4 and 12 is clear enough (a machinist's rule is poking out of 12 in the photo).

My current plan is: pockets 1 through 4 will be largely empty. 5 will hold the flashlight. 6 and 7 will be largely empty. The 85mm SAK will be in 8. 9 will hold the bandana. 10 and 11 may hold dedicated knives (as 11 does currently). 12 is reserved for my phone. 13 will hold the sanitary item, fidget, and lighter. 14 is reserved for my wallet. 15 will hold the PB multi. 16 will hold the 91/93mm SAK. The pen does not yet have a designated spot.

There is awlso a photo of my current loadout:

• Case Sod Buster Jr.
• Victorinox Bantam
• Craftsman 95067
• Leatherman Pulse *
• Victorinox Classic SD (on neck lanyard)
• Wood pen (that I made from a kit) *
• Victorinox Pioneer
• Kelly Green bandana
• Casio G-SHOCK *
• Hand sanitizer *
• Marble (the fidget)
• Bic lighter
• Olight I1R2-EOS

Items marked with an asterisk will be seen throughout the challenge.
A very nice breakdown and I appreciated seeing the various pockets, lovely trousers for folks like us!

I think I hit everything, a few a couple times (which is allowed, right?)

(Image removed from quote.)

There is no limit to the amount of gear you can carry, you can double, triple etc. down on any category you like and carry things that aren't even specifically listed. If you find yourself needing to combine a belt and shoulder suspenders in the morning then you're doing it right!

How's that Shiro? And do you have experience with the Lumintop Tool AA? I'm curious how the EDC compares to it

Used a few items through out the day, but I have to keep making a mental note which is where through out the day.  And there is no way I would leave home without wearing a belt.  :D

I like the organisers!

Day 1

Here is carry for the month of August:

(Image removed from quote.)

My phone serves as my watch. The ST200 will be exchanged with a Pulse on the weekends.
I still need to pick up some hand sanitizer this morning. I thought I had a small bottle in my truck, but I was wrong.

Like comis, leaving home without a belt is inadvisable  :D

Now this is the level of gear I like to see! I'm going t assume you carry this at all times and whilst some kids remember grandpa always having a knife, yours will remember you always having a pocket tool box  :ahhh

I hope the new fixie works out well enough for you whilst you spend the month in the shed  :pok:

I wondered why a magnet stuck to it as well.  The body is brass, but the magnets are attracted by the steel insert.  The magnet won't stick to the brass body without the insert.  [I don't think its pure copper - which is also nonferrous - because a copper Zippo is US$75 and I haven't dropped that kind of coinage on a Zippo.  Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc.]

I was in a bit of a hurry this morning, so I didn't explain how everthing is being carried:

The Leatherman MT, Rite-in-Rain pen, the Klein cable splicer knife, and other items are carried in the Nite Ize Pock-its XL that clips to my belt.

The bandanna, Super Tinker, Evogrip 14, and other items reside in a Viperade pocket organizer carried in my right front pocket.

The Queen #70 sodbuster is carried in my right front pocket.

The Mini Champ, Bic lighter, Space Pen, Milwaukee flashlight, Nerf foam dart (the memento), and other items reside in a Maxpedition Micro carried in my left front pocket.

The hand sanitizer is carried in my left front pocket.

My phone clips to my left front pocket.

PS
I just weighed my pants with everything included, and it totaled 8 lbs. If we assume 2 to 4 lbs of electrical tools, I am carrying up to 12 lbs of gear during the day.
I think I have found the source of my afternoon fatigue. The fact that I am 53 and 60 lbs overweight probably plays no role at all  :D

I usually don't carry the Nite Ize holster and the Viperade organizer at the same time. The Viperade typically has a original Super Tool and my Leatherman Charge knife in it and is carried on the weekend. But I have carried both at the same time.

And yes, my grandkids think I can fix anything at any time. It is hard to live up to that reputation  :ahhh

     :tu:

Until about a year ago, I use to carry all of my stuff in the front pockets of my work pants, which were usually blue jeans. The back pockets were reserved for electrical tools.

Then I started carrying even more stuff because of this place and it was not physically possible to put it all in my blue jeans. So I bought cargo pants and organizers and filled them up with even more stuff. The older I get, the less energy I have for making multiple trips to my work van.

I just need one more item: suspenders to help keep my pants up  :D

DAY 1

OK, for this challenge you're looking at pretty much my basic EDC, so I thought I'd give you a pocket tour while I am here. A couple of items might sometimes get stowed with other kit in the work backpack for security reasons or just in a jacket, but for the challenge duration all of this will be carried in trouser pockets alone. I have used belt pouches in the past, but the title here says pockets and so I'm sticking to that.

Speaking of which - these pockets are as found on the amazing UF Pro P-40 All-Terrain tactical pants:
https://ufpro.com/gb/pants/tactical-pants/p-40-all-terrain-gen-2-tactical-pants
I have several pairs in Kangaroo, Black and Steel Grey. I have yet to try the Navy and they don't do them in Desert Grey, but these are pretty much all I wear, for the most part.

So, to start with, here's the watch - A Casio G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Moving on, we have the carry itself, split vaguely into columns. It would have been neater, but I had a long, hot day and I was just desperate to get started on my first MTO challenge:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Top right is the wallet, a PacSafe 50. They don't even make these any more, but this has lasted me probably close to two decades and is still going strong. Got a Surfshorts one ready for if this ever karks it.
Beneath that is a pocket IFAK. Pouch is Generic Chinese Tat brand from AmazAlibaBay, but surprisingly good.
Beneath that is the handkerchief and alongside that is the sanitary item. Not so environmentally friendly, but small enough for programme compliance.

Back to the top, you'll see a cased green 18650, with two bottles of vape juice. Vape not pictured, as it was actually in my hand when I was setting this up... which is also the reason there's a separate watch pic.
Below this is a set of elastic hairbands, as I'm a sort-of rockstar with 3' of hair. They also come in handy.
Below that you'll see the forum favourite, a Lumintop Tool AA, serving backup to my Olight Perun Mini.

Next column, we have the Swiss Champ for a 91mm, an Evo S557 for the 84mm (but 85, because I'm a rebel. If y'all insist on 84mm, I can swap this for a Sportsman easy enough).
Moving down, you'll see a CRKT Pilar Heinnie Haynes edition, which is my dedicated folder.
Under that is, of course, the MiniChamp that lives in my wallet, which is my 58mm for the duration.
Below these are the classic EC double-act of Fisher Space Pen and Sharpie double-ender.

Next column, you have my keys hung on a battered Leatherman Squirt PS4, which is my pliers-based.
Beneath this is a US Army challenge coin, a memento of services rendered, for which the top man of the 16th Infantry Regiment presented me with this.
Going down, you'll find a dark green Zippo with the gas-jet insert, and a Joby mini phone tripod.
Finishing off is just a couple littl ebits of paracord, for practicing knots and small tasks. The main rigging array is usually in the work pack.

So in summary:

- Pliers-based Multitool - LM Squirt PS4
- Dedicated Folding Knife - CRKT Pilar HH
- Dedicated Flashlight - Olight Perun Mini
- Dedicated Pen - Fisher Space
- Watch - Casio Rangeman
- Fidget or memento - US Army Challenge Coin
- Sanitary item - Dettol hand-squirty
- Lighter/matches - Zippo gas-jet
- Hankerchief
- 91mm SAK - SwissChamp
- 84mm SAK - S557
- 58mm  - MiniChamp

Good to go?

Moving on, we have the carry itself, split vaguely into columns. It would have been neater, but I had a long, hot day and I was just desperate to get started on my first MTO challenge:

Do you prefer a full size Bic to a mini?
Generally, yes. The Family Dollar where I've purchased my last few Bics has the full-size ones in a case right by the cash registers, which makes the decision a little easier.

My pants, by the way, are Tru-Spec 24/7. You can dedicate pockets for eight knives or multis (provided two of them have pocket clips) and still have eight pockets left over! :D

And some great loadouts from awl! :tu:

Day 1

I have awlready shuffled two items around. The lighter and marble have moved into pockets 3 and 11. The Craftsman is now in a no-name sheath that I repurposed into a slip. That'll help protect the knife and the marble from each other, especially if the marble is an "oily" type. A new bandana has rotated in; even if I change them every other day (current plan), you won't see my entire "collection." Early this morning, I used the pen to scribble out a quick note

Mental note: no poopy diaper graphics... :D

After fidgeting around for where each gear has gone to which pocket, I actually think I will need a map for this.

You never ceased to amaze coming up with the latest and coolest flashlight/tech.  I just looked up the CSF03, with the SST led, it should be pretty close to the high CRI led Nichia that you'd like.  :tu:
Thanks.  Although I incorrectly put the number - I meant CSF-04 (although I do have the AAA 03).  I do love my flashlights, but I have gotten where I don’t usually even consider a flashlight that is not high CRI and close to a neutral temp (4000-5700k), unless it is purely for brightness and throw.
Day 01
You guys with your organizers make it look easy.

I wouldn’t carry nearly what I do without an organizer, although I still have a few things outside the organizer pouch.  I understand the fidget comment, because for me it is usually a flipper knife, Zippo, or my Acebeam Rider flashlight.  GF did say the Rider could count since it would be my 2nd light

Right, the basic concept here is things can cover a secondary category as long as you're not relying on it to fulfill another category. Trying to be as inclusive as possible since this is a bit of a big hard challenge for some that don't normally cover some categories in their normal EDC  :tu:

There is no limit to the amount of gear you can carry, you can double, triple etc. down on any category you like and carry things that aren't even specifically listed. If you find yourself needing to combine a belt and shoulder suspenders in the morning then you're doing it right!

How's that Shiro? And do you have experience with the Lumintop Tool AA? I'm curious how the EDC compares to it
I love the Shiro.  My Shiro knives are my favorite knives.  If you like flippers, their action is amazing.  The NeOns also carry real nice because of the light thin scales.

As far as the Tool vs EDC, there are a couple things I like better about the edc.  The EDC switch is a forward clicky so it has a momentary on and is raised making easier to turn on as compared to the flush reverse clicky of the Tool.  The EDC clip is a two-way so could clip in pocket or on cap, whereas the Tool’s is only one direction.  But probably the biggest is the emitter.  The Tool has an XPL-HD whereas the edc is available with a Nichia or Osram.  I like the Nichia neutral color the best, but find even the OSRAM is nicer than the XPL.

I've always liked that backpocket caddy of yours! The dragonfly is an excellent choice, I have a H1 version myself  :tu:
The pocket caddy started life as a vertical cell phone holster that a friend made, probably from a kit from Tandy or somewhere, but his phone didn't fit in the phone holster so he gave it to me.  I removed the metal belt clip, cut it down to the right height for a knife caddy, and reinforced the stitching and added a paracord loop for a pocket pull.  I really like the Dragonfly too because it is light weight and small enough to wear in my shirt pocket where it just looks like another pen.

I do, though I would like to have one of those blast jet inserts or whatever they are.     :ahhh
I love the butane inserts for Zippos, the torch is nice.
