Though it's more of an annoyance than anything else, I'll not keep silent about this any longer. More often than not, when I attempt to log in, I get the sentence in the subject line. It is accompanied by the following:

Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

No indication as to possible causes is given. This happens on both my phone (Android using Chrome) and tablet (Fire using Silk). Unless I enter my password incorrectly, the second attempt is always successful.

I cleared my browsing history a few moments before posting this topic, and that seemed to help. I don't know if that is the only fix, or if there may be a better one. Any ideas of the cause of this little annoyance and how to remedy it?

I haven't seen that issue myself  :dunno:
It could be an old session cookie that was stuck in your browser cache, so deleting that would have helped you there  :salute:

Perhaps it's worth noting that the other forum I frequent runs phpBB, and I don't have such issues there. Could my issue possibly be a quirk or peculiarity of Simple Machines? :dunno:

Sounds like a cookie problem to me too. The stitched up one's advice should do the trick. Let us know if it doesn't

Not too long ago, I logged in from a thread. The error did not occur. I got the same result while logging in this time around. Seems the errors only occur when I log in from the forum homepage. Weird.

I did change some settings for testing purposes (to find the posting bug) such as sessions to database (which might have spit an error but still worked) but that has been reverted.

maybe it's time for a new cookie name and try DB sessions for a while...
