Echotech UK Tour 2022
on: July 20, 2022, 08:11:10 AM
Thanks to the scholar and gentleman that is @SurgeUk I find myself not only on holiday in the UK for 3 weeks but carrying a most magnificent personalised SAK for the occasion…..for more see

Echotech and SurgeUK breakfast at Heathrow
 https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?share_fid=11325&share_tid=89600&url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum%2Emultitool%2Eorg%2Findex%2Ephp%3Ftopic%3D89600&share_type=t&link_source=app

So what better excuse than to have my own holiday thread on the SAK forum  :dunno: :tu:

Not only did the mighty SurgeUk give me this superb Compact, it’s also a case of great minds think alike because guess which SAK I brought with me for the trip, you guessed it a climber :climber:  I joke of course, yep a Compact.

So now I have this brilliant personalised version in my favourite green scales to show off along with my travels around the UK

Got to my parents in Cheltenham (Gloucestershire, Cotswolds country) in the afternoon, hottest day ever recorded in England and definitely a tad warm

The folks had a few fans going but I noticed the plug on one was very loose, job 1 for the ET Tourer 22

Being a bit jet lagged and adjusting to the time zone, up before 5am and went for a walk

As a kid (before moving to Sydney in 1984) I spent a lot of time in the nearby hills so headed straight for them, by 6am I was about 3/4 way to the top, just the sound of birds and cattle in the fields, truly magic start to the day

I am amazed at the thought you gave to your gift to Echo. You are a sterling example of the MTO membership, sir  :tu:

Of course, my opinion of you will carry little to no weight with Mrs. Surge. Not much I can do about that  :dunno:

Got out to the Forest of Dean today, unfortunately the pics aren’t great (possibly down to the real ale  ) but a very pleasant day. The local wild boar sausages I had for lunch were excellent

You are too kind Sir and, also unfortunately, correct in you assumption in that it will carry no weight what-so-ever with herself  ::)

Edge of Cheltenham SAKT but good guess, you’re thinking Cleeve Hill I think which is the other edge and close to Winchcombe, my grandparents used to live in Winchcombe, are you in the area?

I was thinking Cleeve Hill. I’m not anywhere near, but was a regular visitor to Winchcombe in childhood, my father’s side of the family was from Winchcombe so visited and stayed with various great aunts and uncles. My surname is endemic to the area.

Just reading this thread and was thinking "hey, that's awesome"... then I kept reading.  :(  Hope you feel better soon and it doesn't affect your holiday too much.
