FarmerX:
As I understand he was using it as a duct knife to punch into sheet metal or rather his boss was. (also family)
 :twak:
Now that he doesn't do that any more he wanted me to fix it up.
As for myself, thinking about getting a Kansbol as my next Mora...for carry and outdoors, not shop use like the others

been ages since i smoked a Lucky,i used to enjoy them occasionally [Rothman's mild is my brand]

These days I'm a very casual smoker, less than 50 cigarettes per year I reckon.
However, back in the day my cigarette case was loaded every morning  with Rothmans, Silk Cut, Treasurer and Sobranie Black Russians. Pack of Luckies as a back up :)

Day 11

A skoosh late, but I haven't slept yet and time is a concept that fell apart a couple years ago for me. Today's is this little chonky boi, done in the style of the Razel, a good scraping grind on the front and a capable small blade. I'd carry this more often, but the kydex sheath for it has some intense retention.
Check out my Youtube channel  for gear reviews, comparisons, and carry philosophy.

Day 12:
Day’s agenda did not allow carrying a fixed blade. Hence, the orange Hultafors waited in car while the other fellow sat in inside pocket of my tweeds

Interesting looking knife.  I could see where it could be useful.  To much retention can definitely be frustrating.

Day 12: Mail Call.

I hadn't been able to find the "blind bag" Breyer Stablemates (or even the regular line carded ones) at my Tractor Supply. Late last month, Breyer themselves was running a buy one, get one 50% sale on all blind bags; and I bought a few,

Ended up being a series I already owned all but two (four counting the "chase" horses produced in tiny quantities and only in selected cases). The Warmblood (originally released as, and based on, Charlotte Dujardin's Valegro) was the only one I didn't have.  Ended up with three! of the Sport Horse (for a total of four). However, due to being hand-painted, I noticed a lot of differences between the four Sport Horses I now have--with the number of spots, shading on the nose and tail, etc.  The Quarter Horse is a much more glossy, coppery color than the other one from Series 3 I had.  The Paso Fino is darker than my existing one.

The Pocket Box Dogs I was curious about. I figured they'd scale well to the Stablemates horses, and they do. The Pocket Box line is mostly sold in Europe, and Breyer just licensed them for sale in the US.  There are some horses in it that I'm sure will be a great fit for the old Matchbox Pony Trailer--1:76-ish.

Sicut Mintan today, mini survival neck knife for altoids tins and the like

It was designed by a member of the Australian SAS apparently.
Had it at least 15 years and rather fond of it even if it’s not really the most practical knife day to day, I’d still be very happy to find it in an emergency tin so job done!

Today is a harpoon fixie that has a horrendous scratch pattern from its kydex sheath, and a tip that is 'sharpish' because I split fatwood on a concrete slab like a refined and intelligent outdoorsman. Just package opening today, the first promotional items for my YT channel! I'm just happy that it happened and was actually EDC related not some random makeup  :ahhh

All depends on the handle material. I have two 105's. The one with a brass pommel is handle heavy, the one with an aluminum pommel is a bit blade heavy (maybe neutral). But I always find the Buck fixed blades to be nice knives to use.  :tu:

Day 11 -

A SCENTCYtive job was given to the El Morro😢

I retired the wax from the 1/2 Bath Scentsy Lamp, had no idea the scent it was to have been, but maybe 2 yrs old so does it matter.

The blade dislodged the old,
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

and, then cut two new bricks from the package, Carmel Pear iirc!
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

Job well done 🎉
Does it really smell Carmel Pear?

Talking about smell, I have switched to Stevia for my coffee sugar in recent year, and I had no idea how finely grinded these sugar 'powder' were.  Once as I poured them into a jar, I felt as if I was snorting straight "sugar".  The sweet smell/taste as so intense, it lingered on for almost an hour. :D

Day 10
I'm late because I couldn't turn on my computer for the last 24 hours because it was making some kind of terrible grinding noise and I thought it was going to blow up or something.  Anyway, this is a Western model 677 that my father bought before deploying to Arctic Survival School in 1957.  The original sheath was ruined when it spent a week underwater in my bedroom after Hurricane Andrew in 1992, but the blade is still shaving sharp.

I am no computer expert, but last time when my computer was making that noise.  The hard disk was dying and eventually the computer won't turn on.

Just a very friendly reminder--please do make multiple backup of your files(if you haven't already done so).  Many of my friends had to learn the lesson hard way, and the 1-2-3 backup scheme is a good practice for any valuable data.

Day 11
A tale or 2 Morakniv ProS. The good looking one is mine, the gnarly chewed up one belongs to my nephew. I bought them at the same time but his has seen construction/matinence abuse where as mine is usualy more of a shop knife sitting on my workbench

I has to file the edge back then sharpen from scratch to get rid of the chips and rolls, the pics don't do justice to how chewed this blade was. Yes that is blood, because what is a sharpening session if you don't get bit....just kidding. But I do wish I had my big stones here instead of the pocket kit.
Hope it was a minor cut, and heal fast!

Very interesting blade shape, kind of reminds me the chisel knife I owned from Hultafors.

Light unboxing duty for the Woodsman again.

Day 13

119.  I haven't got the chance to put it in real use, but I can totally see why this is a popular knife from Buck.  Nice full size grip, decent fit and finish, great balance and not too heavy for a knife this size.  All the right ingredients to make a great knife.

After melting down the cubes (2), yes it smells of Carmel, and may need to select another scent, something floral or Woodsy!
As I past down the hallway I catch a scent, and immediately looking for something sweet to nibble on, actually devour!!! :gimme:

I too, find that sugar substitutes, artificial or natural are more intense than the real stuff. I notice most in Ice Tea.
Stevia is the best, use about a fourth less measure than real sugar.

Day 13 -

Package duty for el Morro  :woohoo:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Via eBay searching what an el Morro would be selling for if I could find, I stumbled abound a few listing for its predecessor the Maverick, 877.  Prices are crazy high!  And only one El Morro even higher.

I did stumble upon a listing for two knives. One a 877, and a Gear Aid TANTO bundle with paracord modding.  And I secured the package!

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The 877’s handle is more sloped and previous owner removed white scales and wrapped very nicely with paracord.
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]
The blade needs a touch up.
The TANTO not so, it does not looked to have been used.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

The 119 is bigger than I think I would ever need, but it is such the classic that I almost want one.

Almost?

The 119 really is a "special" knife. Well proportioned. Large but not cumbersome or heavy. The blade is probably 1/4 to 3/4" too long, but it would be OK being a 1/4" longer.  :dunno:

I have a 120, and that is definitely a large knife. Too large for my needs. In comparison, the 119 hits a sweet spot.

The 119 is an iconic American knife and I think everyone needs one.  ;)
