Day 23: disassembled an old wooden window frame with the Morakniv Chisel.

Wood chisel, prybar, demolition knife. Does it all, and is often struck with a hammer without damage. I had to hit the spine and the butt with a 24-ounce framing hammer, and I didn't see one mark.

Following the trend, knife coffee. :D

I wrapped the Izula II a while ago with left over paracord, probably it's a good time to re-wrap it with coyote paracord.

Wouldn't any Teflon product help prevent adhesives from sticking?
Hmmm...that got me curious...maybe even PAM would work in a pinch too. j/k :D

Never tried it. Sounds interesting, but I'll wait until I get some feedback on it. For now, a paper towel dampened wirh rubbing alcohol or Zippo fuel removes tape residue just fine.

Great uses and photos from awl! :tu:
@FarmerX.   WD-40 works good on tape residue as well as on tar, tree sap, paint, permanent marker and sealants (some)!
No experience with that product.  But I find acetone (readily available commercially as nail polish remover) easily cuts even the most stubborn sticky residue.  Just put a bit on a paper towel and wipe off the blade.  Repeat as needed, then rinse the blade with water.  Be careful not to get any on the handles though, as even a small amount will quickly destroy some scale/handle materials.
All pretty good suggestions, I myself use a product called "De-Solv-it", but it too probably is not plastic friendly.  I do plan on getting one to test it out, it'd be great if I could apply it once in a while, and keep the residue to the minimum.

Day 26

Case 316-5 SSP

Saw this on a the bay a few weeks ago and couldn’t resist. A few days later a Chinese made American Hunter arrived, less than impressed! :ahhh

Contacted the seller who couldn’t have been more helpful, sent me the return post, sent back the Hunter and today the Case arrived :woohoo:

Judging from the tang stamp it dates between 1965-80 from what I can gather online (happy to be put straight).
It’s in incredibly good condition, you’d think it was new so maybe not that old :dunno: anyway very happy with it
