New version of NexTool Mini Sailor
on: September 04, 2022, 07:03:06 AM
Ahead of us (in autumn) the premiere of the new version of NexTool Mini Sailor. This time it will be a scissors based keychain tool. Work had been going on for some time. At some stage, I was asked to consult on the project. I helped to refine the shape and functionality of the tool-set. It was very nice ☺️ that the producer wanted to consult the project with the market (real user) before it goes into production.

So what will we get in the new tool? (the quality of workmanship and assembly will really be of the highest possible level in such small package)

1. Big scissors
2. Knife (same as at previous Mini Sailor)
3. Double sided bigger file
4. Bottle opener with flat screwdriver
5. SIM card needle (same as at previous Mini Sailor)
6. Key ring
7. Small phillips screwdriver
8. Micro pliers with full serrations

As soon as I receive the first unit for tests, I will show you live.

What exactly did you refine? Can we get an image from the side view?

Here is my two second humble opinion.
Scissors, knife and sim pin look okay.

The rest looks pretty bad...
Can you even access the Phillips or Flat nail nick from the handle recess?

And...
"Can you even access the Phillips or Flat nail nick from the handle recess?" - of course. That simple draw doesnt show that enough clearly

You should really clarify what you are doing with Grant.
I know you have already talked with him some...
But if you are working with a company and posting here, things need to be done the right way.

I'm not "working" with NexTool. I was only asked for a consultation. Money free. And I did it. Big deal. Thanks to this, we will get a better tool. Grant knows about my fresh "relation" with NexTool.

Right, no money but free tools for testing, whatever... you consulted with them and now you are here posting their brand.
You do need to sort this out with Grant.

To be fair, I don't see how to delete my account either. Guess I'll just have to keep hanging around. :dunno:

I thought as much on Facebook after reading about your testing of Nextool stuff. I had a friend request from the co-owner of Nextool. I saw we had 13 of the same folks and added her to my friend list (at the time I thought she was just another multi-tool collector). She messaged me a week or so ago fishing to see if I would like to be one of her Nextool dealers. I told her I was only a collector. She responded...ah you are like Merek. At the time, I did not know who that was overly much. She was very friendly and polite. I informed her that I had no intent to retail. We made our good byes and that was that.

I feel like I need to clarify our moderator's positions on this forum. They are not trying to chase you away. We all like a good heads up on multi-tools from all brands. What they are possibly hinting here is that if you receive tools for free from a dealer/manufacturer, your testing and reviews become suspect. Most folks around on MT.O appreciate a good honest review free from hints of advertising or commercial biases. The staff works hard at keeping MT.O a fair playing field so to speak.

I know you made Nextool a sale from me as I didn't have one in my collection, and I did read your testing of one off of Facebook. I bought the Nextool Flagship pro because you kept piping on how Nextool was a great brand. Had I known that the company was giving you test samples on the side, I probably would have ignored your reviews as something bought by the company. This goes for all things...not just multi-tools. I at least now have one in my collection and it isn't all that bad of a tool to be frank. Sort of reminds me of Roxon.

Anyhow Marek, I do hope you stick around.

Oh and my name is Daniel Sauve on Facebook, FYI.
