Well, it's not easy unless you're collecting Soldiers because it can be hard to fix an exact date on most SAKs.

But that said, I do have an early 80s Climber that I bought because I figured it was a close as I was going to get to my birth year SAK. I was born in 1982.

I am on the lookout for a Camper of that vintage too. I need that stainless steel "Camping" inlay!

A subject after my own heart as a collector of Soldiers

After much searching and plenty of $ ( :ahhh ) i’m lucky enough to have two BYSAK’s and a fairly complete set of Mod 1908, Mod 1951 and Mod 1961 soldiers

My BYSAK is 1962 making it very hard to obtain being the first year the mod 61 was released (not 1961 as you’d think) and even then for only 6 months

I have a similar duo of 62 SAK's. Also my birth year.
I'm on the road at the moment and these are the best pic's I can lay my hands on.

Nice pairing, Echotech! I’ve been lucky enough (and emptier of pocket) getting my 1965 BYSAKs - red and silver Victorinoxes and red and silver Wengers - had to use Etsy as the bay is not good for knives in the UK despite them being legal! Many happy returns to the birthday MTO-ers!

That is a fantastic collection of Soldiers, Echo  :tu:

I have a question(s) for anyone who can answer it:

Were Alox Electricians being manufactored in 1969?
If so, is there a way to determine if an Electrician was manufactored in that general time period?

Hey Miles,

We're big on BYSAKs or any-other-year-of-significance-SAKs in my house.  A 1942 Model 1908 would be pretty easily found I'd think, and then you can start working on your family and friends' special years too!

Here's my father son bookended pair.

Myron

I ran across a listing of old Victorinox catalogs a while back, and I know I downloaded one. Where I found them escapes me right now. But when I find that list again, I'll go through them and see if I can at least get you an idea.

I am still trying to decide between a Soldier and the MUCH more common and less expensive 1996 Atlanta Olympics knives.

I have a '41, '93, '08, and '13.

I was following your advice and managed to find the Electrician club. That discovery may cause me financial and marital problems       :D

Found the listing I mentioned earlier:

https://leaf-vics.com/victorinox-catalogs/7

I believe LeaF is a member of this board. His listings go back only as far as 1982, so I'm still unsure if the Electrician was available in 1969. But who knows...maybe Adam will find one that got a '69 Soldier blade!
