My 0.99c NIC MT
on: February 01, 2009, 04:57:56 AM
Got my first 0.99$ MT the other day NIC(New In Clam shell  :D ) . It is a natty little tool. I did not realise how small the SL40 was till I got it . The pics are with my SAK Huntsman . I am really looking forward to doing a vid comparison with a SOG Switchplier . I just have to get Dunc's BO ST to him tomorrow & work out the deal to snaffle the Switchplier :D :D .

Hey, it's Bob's favorite tool!

Blimey, we didn't realise it was that small when we were discussing them Mat!

For comparison against a 91mm Vic again:

I used to come here a lot.

Since when did function become a entry requirement too "Club Bob"  :pok: :D :D

US Ebay , I think I got my one from the same guy Dennis got his  :think: HC hopping to do a Video comparo if I can get a deal done on a switchy . I have tried finding info about the SL40 from Stanley's website , nothing there , I do not think they make them any more. They must have come to a agreement with SOG to make it,it looks like a dry cleaned Switchplier  :D

I was shocked how small it was even though Dennis gave me the heads up about it being half the size of the Switchplier

I like my stanley.  Fun to mess with.   Although not nearly as fun as a switchplier >:D

More teasing Dennis  :surrender: expect a PM soon mate  :D :D

Spot the sado I looked up the patent listed on the Stanley SL40's handle & got;
http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/5829329.html

So its a Byrd SOG  :P . A legit Spencer Frazer endorsed Minny switchplier made by Stanley  :think:

How's the quality on these Stanley tools?    I've heard of Stanley, but never owned any of their tools.  I've heard their knives are ok.  Is this little guy a user?

It is not a drawer King for me  :D , the knife blade reminds me of a Squirt . For me it seems too small to be a serious tool but some people swear by Squirts as use able tools  :think:. It is made in China & to me it looks a little average in the quality department.But interesting none the less , esp the SOG connection.

I have a Stanley lock knife - good value at about £15 from B&Q in the UK. The SL400 looks very interesting, especially at that price :)
Prone to daydreaming.
