:like:  Seeing some of the things they did brings a smile to my face, very inventive. That knife is way beyond what I would carry but is very cool none the less.

:iagree: they were the more inventive of the two companies in my mind, didn't always work mind
Thanks for your reply  :tu:

Day 8

84mm and 91mm Golfers, the forerunner to the Compact….wish they’d bring the 84mm back tbh

Grooved corkscrews and screws on the scissors on both

You know, I don't love the Compact, but now I wonder if I'd like it as an 84. I'd never carry a 93mm Bantam, that'd just be silly. But the tiny (even if slightly underfeatured) 84s have some appeal.

The 84's definitely hold a lot of appeal for me BPR and the thought of a BantamX (reissued Voyageur) and CadetX has me drooling
I'm with you that 93mm Bantam wouldn't be my thing either....it's perfect as it is at 84mm

I've come to realise that the Compact and the PioneerX (two of my faves) both get very close to perfection and that the larger size and added layers of the PX particularly are actually really what I like to carry, it's just i'd like the 84mm option too

Now that I looked at one on the wiki, I definitely want one. Not for the (checks ebay) $550! that they're going for though.

A 93mm Bantam...I'd try it out! But what would we call it?

I've said before, and I will say again, that I'd love to see Victorinox whip up a 93mm combo tool....but I don't think it'll ever happen.

A lot of the 93s have vaguely rugged/outdoorsy names, so maybe the Grubmaster.

84 and 91 already have a Waiter, so they could just keep recycling that for "basic knife with combo tool."  No corkscrew though.

Wow those are gorgeous!
Surprisingly I’ve never owned a compact but after doing these challenges with smaller knives the compact is starting to catch my interest. May have to pick one up. Great shots so far!  :hatsoff:

Thanks Explorer :tu:

Most of the time the Compact plus the rambler on my keys is all I need….not that that stops from having multiple SAKs, MT’s and knives on regular rotation

Day 10

All this Compact talk makes me think we need to step up a layer and see the SAK I’d recommend to most people as their first SAK…if they were foolhardy enough not to already have one :pok:  the mighty Climber :climber:

I think a 93mm Bantam would be a “Jungle fowl”. It’s bigger and wilder than its small cousin.

Echotech, keep up the good posts, all the knives thus far are beautiful.
