Gerber Center Drive- Small light colored metal piece

I recently received a Gerber Center Drive and while opening the extra bit holder a small light colored metal piece fell out. I've attached an image and I'd like to know where this piece came from on the tool and how to re-install it.

Welcome to the forum, I'll have a check on mine after work to see where that lives.  I'm guessing another member might have answered by then though, it'll be a few hours.

Man I hate it when that stuff happens. All I can think of is what else is going to fall out. Maybe return it under warranty and get another one?

I If you just bought it, I would contact the place you got it from for an exchange. I have one, and if I can locate it I will take a look though!

OK, I just looked at mine, and I do not see a part on it that looks anything like that piece in your photo. Did you buy it new? Do all the tools open. close, lock, etc. properly? Maybe it is some random loose piece of steel from something else that made its way into the body of the tool?

It should be wrapped around part of the frame, the small piece between the knife and bit driver pivots.
Where the slider stops when you close the pliers.
