Types of Pliers
on: January 03, 2023, 08:41:37 AM
One of the most versatile tools, the humble pliers come in many shapes and sizes for numerous jobs, both general and specialized.

I put together a basic chart showing some of the more common types. Not exhaustive, but a good overview of these pinchy things.

Now how representative is your collection? :D

Here is an assortment of pliers that I have at home and at work:

Many of my pliers have characteristics from more than one category.

Of course, after setting up the photo and then putting the pliers away, I realized that I forgit to include the 125 mm Cobra that I carry in my pocket

The Knipex Twin Grip Slip Joint pliers are great! I like the length and adjustability, and you can get a strong grip and leverage.  :tu:

I'll try to come up with some good reason to justify why I need one then! :D Luckily, I'm easy to convince.

Great thread, well done! I need a few more of those, but so far have managed to do without them.
