SOG Cross Grip
on: April 30, 2023, 12:48:07 AM
In trying to find a small pliers based multi-tool to replace my Learherman Squirt in my Alpaka pocket organizer, Not really wanting a Gerber Dime,  I found a SOG Cross Grip on eBay, reasonably priced, and in good shape. The Cross Grip is a great small multi-tool, but there is one feature that could prove problematic. The tools tucked in the handle interiors are all slip joints, which is fine, as they have a definite stop point, but the phillips driver, is just a very small, thin, flat piece of metal with the end opposite the driver head looped around the axle upon which the other tools swivel. There is no stop for it, much like the tweezers on the opposite handle. At first I thought this might have been a repair, but it has a phillips icon stamped into it for identification., and the tool bears no marks of tampering. With the tweezers, it’s not a big deal, since it will take a two finger grip to operate. But that phillips bit is a problem. Any suggestions?
