Mine arrived today, too!   Great and speedy service from Vx USA.   These knives are much more interesting and beautiful in person than they are in pictures or certainly Vx's own renderings.   If you are on the fence, I highly advise picking one up!

OK, now, by my count at least 4 of you have this knife and there are only 2 pictures in this now 4 page thread.  For shame  :twak:

Some of us have to wait for Christmas, you know, and need to live vicariously through other's pics!   :D

Yes, we need some pictures.  I do cringe a little every time I read one of friend Gustopher's posts however.  An image of the Gus household on Christmas morning comes to my mind.  Crackling fire on the gas fired simulated fireplace.  Cards with glitter adorned elves and reindeer strung above the window.  Stereo softly playing "Chestnuts roasting on an open fiiiiire."  Wife smiling.  Little kissie on Daddy's forehead.  Her soft voice says in his ear.... "Are you ready to open your present?"
Then the blushing Diva in her housecoat brings a ribbon bound box and hands it to you.  Wrappings fly.  Mommy beams and clasps her hands.  Eyes let a solitary happy tear roll down her lovely cheek.  There it is.... your new Rudolph the Reindeer slippers.  Red LED lights winking on his little nose.  Gus cries a little too....the new Cadet is all sold out now.  G

 :ahhh

Well, I do keep the budget and saw a $65 charge to victorinox on the 16th, so unless Vic has started making reindeer slippers, I should be in the clear.

Something I’ve noted that isn’t necessarily obvious from pictures is that the mountains, snow, sky, clouds all have different textures…

Geez, after not visiting the forum for a while I only found out today that they already launched the thing, and at an acceptable price to boot!  :ahhh After some hectic digging I eventually unearthed a dealer that still had them in stock. Phew. Now let's just hope that dealer is legit, I wouldn't want to miss out on this one.

FOMO got the better of me….still not available anywhere in Australia so ordered from Swiss Knife. They’re selling it for US$58.78 but the shipping is a killer

As a Cadet collector I had to have one, will probably kick myself in a few weeks when they’re locally available and a bit cheaper, we’ll see

Don’t worry, Midnite Manager UK - in my experience, the tracking rarely works, but the goods do turn up! Having to send proof of age was a pain when I ordered the Damast in March, but the knife did appear….

I bet if you would carry the lovely thing for a week or so with the key-ring nub still on it that you would get used to it.  That's what I did with my Huntsman, et al.  Just took the ring off.  Felt weird, but not for long.  Plus, what would you hang the little watch fob dingie that they include with the knife from?
I would hate to be the one who saw the horrified face of Snuggles when she saw me grinding away on my brand-new Christmas present like some crazy person.  Or the wrath to follow.  Brrrrr.
Best wishes.  Gary

All my alox have lost their keyrings.  The angle it sticks out at is much more uncomfortable than the 91mm line, IMO.

If I do end up carrying it, it will eventually be removed.  I know myself too well.

I have two or three SAKs with the keyring nub removed.  My Dad got one for a gift and insisted that I remove the ring.  I did.  Then he insisted that I remove the key-ring nub.  So I did that too.  He accepted it then.
The annoyance with the alox handled keyring nub evidently is pretty common.  I never owned an alox SAK, so I can't speak to that.  That 84mm should be a comfortable and very attractive carry piece once you get it dehorned.  That little mountain fob would look nice as a charm on a lady's bracelet or watch.  Maybe for a zipper pull on a purse.  Best wishes to you and your family.  Gary (IMR)

I got mine today. It's simply stunning. Probably the nicest looking SAK I ever had. The only thing that comes close is the damast Swisschamp with the carbon scales. I daresay nobody who gets this will be disappointed; it's an instant super classic in my book. If it came with scissors for, say, 80 Euros, it would be THE SAK and I would buy a whole stock for edc, as gifts to my nearest and dearest and as shelf queen(s). Thank you for a job well done, Victorinox!  :hatsoff:

Yesterday I've got a mail from one of my regular SAK suppliers, telling me there are only forty Winter magic 2023 in stock, and ordering one would be a good opportunity now.  He started with fifty specimen lately, so I decided to wait one more day. This afternoon I was ready, but so was the stock - all gone then...   Must have been flying from the shelves ...

Always good to have more sources, so I ordered one from a different vendor. Five € additionaly, but wth.
Pheww, I mean  :woohoo: No shipping costs, though.

So waiting for :mail: to finally  :climber:
