Food grade mineral oil works for me.
One of you kind folks recommended me a bottle of food safe mineral oil with lots of Japanese on the bottle. I'm not smart enough to read Japanese so I can't tell you what it's called. But it works well, didn't cost much, and came in a large bottle.So, hooray for Japan!
I'd be surprised if Victorinox doesn't package food-grade mineral oil in these little bottles.
