:iagree: Looks like a Lumintop Nano Frog with the single 10440 tube would fit in the side loop pretty nicely. My ST300 sheath's side loop often held a Streamlight Stylus Pro, until the flashlight gave up the ghost. A two-AAA flashlight is a little too large for that role, in my opinion.

Enjoy the Arc, NeatBeard!

Aww yeah! Nice haul there with the sheath and bit kit too! Good on ya mate! Now you just need the bit extender, and a small AAA or rechargeable flashlight to put in the side loops and you are set!

Cheers, yeah was glad I could get one with the sheath n bit kit.

Hahahaha you must be a mind reader dude!! Already started on the flashlight rabbit hole as I gave my last mini/keychain one to my youngest lad.

As per my previous reply I have started on the flashlight rabbit hole. Thanks for the recommendation, just googled it.  :salute:

Well it's early days but so far i'm loving the Arc, my initial fear of it being wobbly/flimsy, etc were totally unfounded.

So far i've only used it for cutting open/dismantling a few boxes and this weekend I installed a new ceiling light in my eldest's bedroom and I set myself the challenge of only using the Arc, no other tools. It performed excellently, using a couple of the bit drivers, wire cutters, 'hammer' edge and pliers without multiple trips to my workshop as I forgot something (as usually happens)!!

Awesome news - I'm glad you like it  :tu:

Your concern was a valid one -  I have even seen several reviews claiming the ARC is flimsy, and I guess I can see how someone might think that before using the tool.  The "Free technology" that makes the ARC so nice feels so much different than other tools.  As you have just experienced yourself, it's far from flimsy. In fact, Leatherman even claimed that the ARC was strongest full-size pliers they have ever made.   :multi:

Great project and a great way to test and break-in your ARC!  So glad it is working out well for you so far !

Happy New Year folks!!    Seems like a while ago now though... Hope you're all doing well.

Thought i'd post an update on some goodies that my boys bought me for Christmas to accompany my Arc (that I treated myself to a couple of months back).

This my now my UK EDC set up sorted, got an Olight i3T 2 EOS torch that goes in the larger, elasticated, side pocket of the sheath, a bit extender in the other side pocket and a Galvanox double-sided 42x piece bit kit in the back pocket of the sheath.

I now keep the original Leatherman (part) bit kit as a spare incase I loose any of the others. Still carrying it daily, using it and loving it.

As you were.

Cheers.

The Galvanox ones are a prefect fit and are harder. Now this may or mayn't be a good thing. Means they won't get chewed up as much but then more stress will be transferred to the Arc so time will tell I guess...?

So it is possible that they would break instead of getting chewed up :salute: that might be a good trade off though  thanks for the feedback

Arc vs Garage #5 Awl
Reply #622 on: January 30, 2026, 04:11:35 AM
Probably asked this before, just cannot find it in the search engine.

Quite some time back I broke the Awl on my Garage #5. And while I could send it back the Leatherman for a fix, have been either low of the flow or just don't want to send it in. Looked on Ebay for an Awl, and the Arc Awls have come down in price. So.. the question beckons, will the Arc's Awl fit into a Garage #5?

Are there very thin washers in between the Awl? Cause it would be cheaper to just order the part and swap it out and be done with it, even if it did not have the oval thread hole.

Otherwise to send to Leatherman I would have to remove all the custom parts and enhancements, then try to reassemble all that when it comes back. Don't get to carry it that much, but I really do cherish this bugger. -- Cannot carry anything with a blade at work, so been using the Roxon Flex. Yet, weather forecasts keep teasing us with 50° F weather and I really want to get out and ride again. Want my white handled friend to come with me. :)
