My wife and I decided we needed to take a break from the real world this past weekend and head on down to the coast for a few nights in the camper. The fishing was pretty good all three days. I managed a few black drum and some whiting. Nothing huge, but enough to take your mind off of things. With the daughter away in college, this is the first time my wife and I have gone by ourselves in near 20 years. It was awesome!
Here's a couple of pictures including fish, gear and my trusty alox Cadet. I wasn't sure how the salsmurfer would treat treat it, so it got thoroughly rinsed off each time I returned to the camper,,, as did my rod and reel. Not much gear really needed for surf fishing. Some assorted hooks, sinkers and I also keep a couple of Johnson silver minnow spoons if they are in close.
Please consider my request for a fishing badge.
