Thank you both.  I believe this may have had a tool swap at one point because the file is not the fisherman file with the line down the middle to sharpen hooks.
This is just the regular file seen on other MP400s.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

I am thinking the earliest models may have not had the groove, I have seen them both with and without the groove.

Here is one with no groove.

Day 22
Today I changed up the folding knife that accompanies my MP600.  I've been carrying an ESEE Zancudo folder that I got in the Sos Surprise Box, now changed out for a Spyderco Tenacious that also came from the Surprise Box another time that I received it.  You see, there are so few forum members interested in receiving free stuff that those of us who are playing have received the box multiple times in the last year and a half or so. If anyone else wants to receive the surprise box you can sign up in the thread in the Break Room.  You get the box from the last person who had it, you pick out what you want (adding anything more is optional), then you send it to the next person in line.  It's free stuff. You just have to pay the postage to send it to the next person.

I tried to use my MP600 for this job, but I had to use vice grips...the Leatherman Crunch actually.
I have the broken blade out and the file from an MP600 in the MP400!
I will need the Gerber tool to tighten the fittings though as it is hard to get a good grip on them.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

Day 22

Just wanted to thank everyone for the get well wishes. Y’awl are truly the greatest.

Today was pretty much a down day. Did venture up some energy and managed to get out on some errands. Afterwords was wiped, so took more cold medicine and chilled for the evening.

As for the MP600, it patiently rode with me today. It didn’t see any action and I can feel its impatience growing.

The Crunch is a fascinating and very useful multitool Lisa.  It's on my bucket list of tools to have.  Great job on restoring that 400!
