Day 26

Water heater went out at the rental today.  Not sure how it could get a leak at just 2 years old.
Water heaters went from $500 in 2021 to $700 in 2023.  They cover the $500, I have to pay the difference.
Thankfully the renter caught it early.  No damage, just a faulty leaking water heater that just started to go bad.
***Edit update.  Just got back from Home Depot and they covered everything but $35.  :woohoo:

Day 26

Went troll hunting in Issaquah today with the little one.

The first photo is about the artist and the material used for the sculpture.

The troll.

I guess there are a total of five Trolls by the artist in Puget Sound. I think the plan is to go find the one in Ballard on Friday. The wife has expressed an interest in seeing them all. The other three local ones are in West Seattle, Vashon Island, and Bainbridge Island. I guess there is an additional one in Portland, Oregon.

And today’s carry.

Day 26

Early on in the challenge I had posted this tool and identified it a a pro scout.  After reading posts in this challenge,  and some of the Gerber episode posts I believe it is a woodsman, not a pro scout, since it does not have the scissors.  Am I correct?

That sounds about right.  There was a model that didn't have the scissors, had the RemGrit saw blade, and may or may not have the replaceable cutters that was part of a maintenance kit that came with a flashlight. I don't know what it was called.  :dunno:

I used the Pro-Scout's combo edge blade to open some mail.  I think it was important.  Apparently, they have repeatedly been trying to contact me concerning my vehicle's extended warranty. ::)

Texas, the one I bought is still up on eBay.  I think I have the Woodsman too.  What do you, (or anyone else), think?

***Edit:  Was looking here:
https://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Multi-Plier+600

I think I have the Gerber Maintenance kit, without the kit part.

Texas, I'm still trying to figure out what you have with the Warncliffe blade.

Thank you FB for the post!  I clicked on the first link and I saw this:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I thought 'It's a Gerber Mini!'

I read the info on the second link, a good refresher, and now I wonder if I swapped the warncliffe in from another tool, which would throw a wrench into the whole works.   ::)
Thanks again!   :tu:

I love my Al Mar Sere 2000! :) (I actually have 3 of them....one has the black blade)

They have VG10 blades and were made in Seki City, Japan

Ai Mar died in 1992 and his widow died in 2017

In early 2019 Al Mar Knives was sold to a Maryland USA company Edge Technologies Engineering LLC

The current Al Mar Sere 2020 knives in my opinion are not as good. The current ones have D2 blades and a flipper and are made in China . The quality is not the same.

If I was you, I would try to find an Al Mar Sere 2000 that was made in Seki City, Japan.
