Does anyone know where I can get a screw for a Skeletool?

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a screw/threaded bushing for a Skeletool?  Not sure what happened to the one that was in it but it is gone and now the blade obviously wont tighten down.  I am not sure if it is a screw or some kind of threaded bushing that the other side screws into!

Any help is appreciated!

Thx.

If it doesn't have any sentimental value your best bet may be to send it in to LM for warranty work

I also have no idea the size the fastener is  :D

Hopefully you can get this sorted through :salute:

2nd this. Just explain it fell out somehow. If they think you disassembled it this may void the warranty.

You can also try Etsy or AliExpress.

Yeah I already thought about that but didn't really want to spend $13 or so just to get a screw!  That is why I posted here!  :)

Me says if you send them this picture, they will likely send you one - I'd certainly hope so anyway.

They won't send parts out unfortunately :dunno: Gerber sent me some screws for an EAB once but LM doesn't seem to keen on sending things out and will likely just recommend to send it to them :salute:

I have sent things to them for cheaper than that  perhaps just in a padded envelope taped to a piece of cardboard that is taped to the inside of the envelope would be cheaper

I just recently sent them a Wingman using the bare minimum to protect it and it was $13 and change.

Update:  Problem solved.  I sent Leatherman an email a few days ago or so asking them if I can get the screw for it and that I would pay for it if they wanted, also explaining the I didn't really want to send it in for just the screw .  After no reply to my email I called yesterday and after a call back which I told her I sent and email explaining everything.   She apologized for no one replying back stating they are extremely short handed and she offered to send me a shipping label for free so they could get it inspected and fixed the correct way with the right tension etc. so I was super happy  with that.  The Skeletool is in bound to Leatherman as of today!  :)

Great customer service there for sure!!

Sounds like the best idea to me.  If the piece just fell out, it seems likely that something was stripped in the assembly to begin with.  Sending a new piece in the mail might not have fixed it anyway.  Leatherman customer service did you a good turn by sending a label.  It's nice when something works out.  Best wishes.  G
