LM Micra minimod... pointy thing!

I posted this over at EDC but I thought you chaps might like a look at it too. This is my Micra after being attacked with the dremel:

Apologies for the slightly blurry close-up.

The reason why I did this little mod is that I carry a nice pair of sliver grippers as the tweezers on the Micra are next to useless in my opinion. I decided it would be much more useful if I EDC'd a small poker - a bit like a small nail or undone paperclip. It's quite sturdy and fairly sharp on the end so can be used as a small awl or the sort of thing that gets agro CD drives open. For my money, this makes my Micra almost perfect EDC.

I used a dremel grinding stone to remove the other prong and grind the remaining one down to about 40% of it's original width, and some wet 'n' dry paper to finish/sharpen. I have already found it really useful for several things - adjusted a watch strap with it just last night  :D

Now that is a sensible use of micra tweezers.  Certainly beats trying to pick anything up with them  ::)

I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Cool mod that  :tu:

You could remodify the design in a number of ways and make it more useful for other tasks as well

Someone with a PC could cut one of them off and use the other like a paper clip to reset a PC

 Man I may go cut on my Micra now :D

It does work for reset buttons - that was one of the main things I had in mind, that and untying difficult knots.
