USGI Aviation Match Case

Just got this USGI Aviation Match Case in today.  I believe they came in US Aviation survival kits.  Holds four match boxes, which came with it.  It's supposed to be waterproof, but there's no rubber seal.  So I tested it, held it under water for a bit, swished it around and sure enough no water got in.  Looks like the top of it has a bevel and fits inside the lid for a friction fit.  Pretty cool, enjoy the pics!

Nice.  I agree it is a clever design to be watertight without a gasket or o-ring.

I tested a few of the matches, they took quite a few strikes to get them going, one of them I couldn't get to light.  I think they are pretty old.
