I have.  I sometimes neck carry a Classic when I'm out for a run.

I have a clip attached to a dog tag chain.  I don't even notice it there.

More than once on vacay at the beach, I have carried an alox Classic with 1xAAA light on a neck lanyard.  You are far better prepared than the average person with just those things around your neck.  Prolly a good idea to use a breakaway lanyard.

A dog tag chain is a good option, but I neck carry 58 and 74mm SAKs on paracord lanyards that I make. As powernoodle states, a breakaway connector is desirable. I'd be happy to show some photos of mine if you'd like.

For those that do neck carry, do use a sheath or just attach directly to keychain ring?

Just directly to the Ring.

Same here. I attach the SAK's key ring directly to the spring hook deal.

I think if I were going to carry anything on a neck chain, it would be one of those tiny mini-flashlights.  I am a one good sized knife in my pants pocket kind of person.  With a winter coat, I have been carrying an Opinel most of the time in the coat pocket.  No neck knives for me.  Best wishes.  G

@Ozark - Please make your  thread titles more meaningful - Eg Does anyone neck-carry a SAK?

You should get a better response  from the members - And it also helps MTo users with (historical) searches

I noticed something with friend Samek's nice 58mm in his pouch.  He appears to be wearing it outside of his shirt.  For some reason, when I think neck carry, I imagine inside the shirt.  Might be less comfortable against the skin, but it would keep the thing from flopping around as much and getting hung up in stuff.  Plus an inside carry wouldn't invite notice from the general public.  I wonder how the others carry, inside or out?  Best wishes.  G

I neck carry under the shirt. As Gary noted, a neck knife flapping in the breeze could exhibit undesirable behavior. And I'm less likely to get askance looks from the general public. Even a MiniChamp isn't very noticeable when concealed. But these days, I'm more inclined to carry a small flashlight around my neck.

My friend Fred used to wear his USMC dogtags under his shirt on the bead chain and a couple of car keys.  No knife.  The keys obviously were in case he locked himself out of his ride.  Back in the simple metal key era.  Best wishes.  G

This is one of the reasons I so rarely neck carry.  As you say, inside the shirt can be uncomfortable and difficult to access, while outside the shirt can be unwieldy and draw disapproving looks.

There is no perfect solution, but the best I’ve found is to wear two shirts, with the neck knife between them.  Outer shirt to be untucked and possibly even partially unbuttoned for ease of access.  I tend to run so warm, however, that I can’t generally bear to wear two shirts except outside in the winter.

Sounds like an idea for a challenge, doesn't it?  Neck Carry EDC.  String all your miniature EDC items on a chain and wear it.  Little mini light?  Some sort of one-piece tool?  A Classic?  Give some a chance to actually use that little fixed blade neck knife?  Maybe one of those mini utility knives?  It has possibilities.  Best wishes.  Gary

I'd be happy to show some photos of mine if you'd like.

Whatcha got?  I've never considered a neck carry but we usually do a beach trip in a the summer when visiting the outlaws and I like powernoodle's idea.

I have a new classic sd precious alox on the way. I might look into neck carry so as to preserve the finish, and to give me a reason to experiment with neck carry. I'm thinking a ball chain with a lobster clasp, but I'm open to suggestions.

Here's a photo of my MK II MiniChamp on a neck lanyard. Please excuse the cat hair  and my phone camera's extreme difficulty with capturing blue. I edited the photo as best I could. For those who might be curious, the paracord is "Fireball."

I’ve neck carried an alox Classic SD under my shirt. I used a breakaway lanyard that came with a Streamlight Microstream flashlight.

If I’m lazing around in pajamas without pockets, sometimes I neck carry a Climber the same way.
