Lowe's Kobalt utility knife
on: February 15, 2009, 01:33:56 AM
I killed some time in Lowes today waiting for the wife to get done at the mall ::). They had these utility knives on sale for half price.  $7.98 with a lifetime hassle free  warranty.  All blades lock and 2 are OHO.

That's a useful looking thing.

A question, you see the spare blades at the left of your picture. In the UK, the knife that they fit is generally referred to as a "Stanley Knife". Although the format is now used in a variety of different knives from dozens of manufacturers, we still call them Stanley knives. I'm not sure if Stanley came up with the design originally or not. I guess it's like people call vacuum cleaners "Hoovers".

Is that the same on your side of the Atlantic (or anywhere else people might read this) or is it just a UK thing?
I used to come here a lot.
