Scaler user badge request
on: April 08, 2025, 11:22:48 AM
As mentioned several times and by many good people here, the fish scaler lends itself to many ingenious tasks.

I tend to use it for lifting hot things. The teeth on the scaler makes it quite good for keeping a hot pot stable enough to not slide about, when removing it from the fire.

Today I discovered, that the little hook on the end of the scaler is great for pulling hot rice bags out of the pot as well. Who knew? :tu:

And the pointy bit at the end must have been designed for the sole purpose to ensure that the Swiss are never without a cheese fondue fork, right? ::) :ahhh

It's been a long while since I've had boil-in-bag rice. Great and very badge-worthy uses! :tu: And I seem to remember a Felix Immler video in which he made some amazing-looking fondue...
