I am no gambler... or...?!
on: April 28, 2025, 09:01:09 AM
I have always said I am no gambler. I never buy lottery tickets, bet on sports or anything else. I have always said it is a fools game.

And yet when I think of it I might be a gambler anyway. My "drug" is auctions.

Who in their right mind would bid on this - considering the pictures!?

Well I did. I guess I am a gambler after all. And/or a fool.

I can count 13 SAK that might be something to have. And a lot of crap too. And any or all of the SAK: s can be in crap condition...

I will get back with a follow up...

If there is 13 SAK (not sure about those thick ones) that would be good jackpot to get. I hope you get those and there is 13 SAKs

I'd roll the dice on that batch.  I count five that look like cheap knockoffs for sure, but five 6+ layers that might be in good shape.  I big on a lot no one was interested because I saw a Craftsman in it.  That alone made it worth the price, but there were some other good Vics as well.

Good luck!  I hope you hit the lottery on this one!

Went and picked them up. Nervously opening the package...

1.   SwissChamp 1988-1990, grooved corkscrew, scissors w screw, no groove for scissor spring, slant joint pliers, missing pen. Condition: very nice user.

2.   SwissChamp 1988-1990, grooved corkscrew, scissors w screw, no groove for scissor spring, slant joint pliers. Condition: like new/unused but one scale has marks.

3.   SwissChamp 2004 up. Condition: like new/unused.

4.   Champion C, 1986-1991, grooved corkscrew, scissors screw. Like new/unused.

5.   Champion Plus (1.6795R), 2003 up (old style magnifying glass – so early). Sadly the main blade is destroyed. The rest of the tools are as new. A parts knife (or getting a new main blade).

6.   Climber, 1986-1991. Nice user.

7.   Golf Tool, 1999-. Like new except some wear on the detachable ball marker.

8.   Classic, 58mm. Very nice user.

9.   Ambassador, 74mm, nice but missing a millimetre of the blade tip. A User.

10.   Bantam with advertising, likely unused.

11.   Victorinox Soldier “1961” from 1989. Like new/unused.

12.   Hunter, slide lock. Like new/unused.

13.   Spartan Lite, working light and nice condition overall.

Crap that came with the above - now in the bin:

All in all – total sum divided on the 12 that were good (leaving out the destroyed blade Champion Plus), the cost came to 190 Skr a piece (12 x 20 USD).

I am now officially a gambler and some of them makes me feel like I "won".

No. 3, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 13 will be given to young relatives that need a push in the right direction.
No. 5, a parts knife or mod object.
The rest to be users or going into the collection.

:iagree: I would have gone for it based off the Hunter and Model 1961 alone!

Definitely a steal - Great thing about SAKs is that because the build quality is so good - You are nearly always gonna come out trumps, unless say a blade has been totally destroyed.

And that bunch was deffo worth it with all those big boys and the Soldier and Hunter

Funny  that the CAKs are awlready in the bin !!!
