Loosing excess weight (Pioneer X)
on: May 19, 2025, 09:54:13 PM
Got home from work. Felt a little overweight.

Still have some small finish work to do. Touching up of edges and then a polish.

I feel lighter already.

Nice work!

I’m not a fan of the 93mm key ring, so a definite improvement in my view.

Thanks!

I can live with the key ring - for instance as in one of my edc kits. But this red beauty I wanted smooth and "naked"...  :D

Nice work! Looks factory!

Every 93mm I carry gets the ring-ectomy.

Reminds me of climbers/mountaineers/backpackers I know, who cut the handle off a toothbrush to save weight

I'm with you! I have even filed the keyring off of a couple limited editions. I like to use my SAKs and that 93mm keyring is not very user friendly.

I'm more a "leave the SAK as-is" kinda guy. Yet I must say you did a top-notch job "lightening the load!"

You and me both. They may not be the most limited of limited editions, but both my  2018 berry red cadet and pioneer lost their nubs.

Not limited, per se, but I also removed it from my old cross pioneer (with 85 dated blade).

Yeah, I carried a cadet for awhile in the 2010-2012 timeframe, but switched to a pioneer in 2012 and that’s been my edc since. First, ol’Blackie from2012-2018, and now Berry from 2018 on. I got the 2018 berry cadet mainly to complete the set.

I got the ‘85 dates pioneer thrown into a purchase of a Benchmade folder I got on BF a few years back. Quite the freebie!
