In the last ever episode it showed Number 6 escape the village and return to his pad in London.

The giveaway hint was that his door opened automatically like the ones in the village.

The intimation was that either London was part of the village or that Number 6 invented the village and was indeed himself number 1.

Some have suggested that he resigned because he found his idea of a "safe retirement village" had been abused by the powers that be and so they put him in there as punishment for leaving the "organisation".

OK I remember the door to his flat closing.  I hadn't made the connection that it might imply he was number 1, more that it just meant he was still a prisoner.  They had done a 'fake' escape as a plot for an earlier episode as well.

I saw the episode you are referring to 3 days ago.

I saw it as an orchestrated escape but that some from the village had managed to infiltrate part of our government and returned him there at the end.

I reckon the minister he saw did not "know" about the village but had reservations about Number 6's motives.

BTW, they are repeating these on ITV4 on Tuesday mornings.

Roger Moore? Really?  I liked Moore a lot when I was a kid but looking back at them now I'm not so sure.  That maybe has more to do with the films than the actor though.  Lazenby definitely suffered from a terrible script and it was a shame he wasn't given another chance.  The Dalton films have a hard time sticking in my memory they are just so bland.  Actors often get a hard time for giving a poor performance but we have to remember it's the Director who says "cut" and accepts the performance.

I do have to ask though WHAT IS WRONG WITH SEAN!  :ahhh  That's better.
