I like the parcel hook and use it enough that I have been looking for a way to make it easier to open on my Climber.
I have seen several different methods people use to make the parcel hook easier to open with a three layer SAK (use the toothpick, close a lanyard in the hook, put a small magnet under it, open the scissors halfway to lift the hook up a bit, and/or cutting a grove in the hook with a Dremel tool).
However, I have not seen anyone cut away a portion of the liner that blocks access to the hook. You need to open the corkscrew to get access, but that is quick and does not leave me anything to drop (like a lanyard or toothpick). This was a quick job for me using a jeweler's saw and a quick clean up with a file.
It is still not as easy to open the hook as it is on my SwissChamp, but it is still much easier to get it open.
