Nice pics, Powernoodle  :like:

I already posted mine in the Wave Owners Club, but I’ll add them here too.

The Obsidian is my favorite.

I love the shade of orange on the Canyonland.  I think it’s my favorite of the 3.

The color on the Cascadia looks much nicer in person than it does on pictures.  I’m pretty sure it’s my favorite

Having two favorites is not a bad thing.  Even better would be if all three are your favorite colors.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got my Cascadia. I expected it to be more on the bluer side. It’s sort of an alpine green in person. Pretty unique.

In the poll that I conducted, the Cascadia (green) won by a 2-1 margin over the others.  But I like them all.

I just bought an used wave alpha (seems like unused to me). I think it's a neat tool. I definitely like the cascadia color. When alpha first came out I went to see it on a local store. There were obsidian and canyonland on a shelf. I must say, I like the cascadia best and I'm very happy that I got it very reasonably priced.  Alphas retail price here in Finland is 289 euros.

Alpha is going to replace my arc as an edc tool for a while.

Thanks. I'm just wondering are people of this forum disliking alpha, because I'm fifth person to join the club.  I'm really starting to like this tool. So comfortable, fits my hand better than any other multitool.

I :like: The tool but not the price :D I have so many different tools to pick from already that I can't justify the price just yet :salute:

I don't dislike the Alpha, but much like Poncho, I can't justify the price. That's especially true when the ST300 works so well for me. The flip side of that coin is that I may find a good deal on a lightly used one...and failing that, I can always use my veterans' discount.

I’m in!  Recently got it as an early Christmas gift to myself lol.  Unfortunately I keep getting errors when trying to post pics.  Love it though.  It’s basically what I’ve wanted in a Wave for years.  Basically like a smaller Surge but not having the adapter where I have to choose between saw or file.

There's a strong bias towards older Leathermans here, and most of the new tools get a lot of hate.

I agree with you on the Alpha - it's an excellent tool.   :tu:   Welcome to the club!

Yeah I  was grumpy about it before it was released, based partly on price and because there are other MTs I wish they would release.

But I own 3 of them now, so it seems like Leatherman knows what it is doing.   :ahhh

I agree with FX and Poncho.  I like the Wave alpha probably because I like the Wave.  I’ve been hoping to find one in store to test out.

Just can’t justify the price right now. If LM still did the 40% off discount I’d definitely get 1. I’d also probably have an Arc. I’m sure that discount model wasn’t sustainable.

I know I’d end up using my Spirt over it in the end.

I received my Alpha the other day, and the orange goes well with my New Breitling.

Question for Wave Alpha users: Can you open the blade when the pliers are open?

For safety reasons, this cannot be done in Wave/Charge/Surge.

************

Edited:

I think I found the answer to my question: the blade doesn't open because there is a small notch/indentation on the other side of the blade where a small spring pin rests.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
