I hope our friend Folder Beholder isn't angry that we (actually mostly me) side-tracked her very interesting thread with advertising SAKs.  Some memory pops into my feeble mind, and next thing you know I have written it out.
I wonder if FB likes the Grape Nuts Flakes?  She didn't really say.....
Best wishes.  G

One more comment about the 8 O-Clock coffee.  When you put the freshly-ground coffee into an old-fashion percolator, and got the brew going, you better have your doors latched.  The wonderful coffee aroma was intense.  Neighbors would come like a hoard of zombies across your lawn and tap on your door with their coffee cups in hand.

Roger that iMR...we may not have an old fashioned grinder but I do have a percolator.  And I have a separate steel mesh pour over.  Or we use our automatic gring and brew system.  Either way, we start with whole bean Columbian medium roast Eight O'Clock coffee and the result is aromatic and delicious.

Sometimes after I pour the beans all into a giant Ball jar storage jar, I take the bag. Roll it down a bit so it stays open. And put it on the floor of my truck so the aroma fills it up.  Better than the little pine trees.

I'm brewing some right this minute for my long drive to work.

We are and thank you!  Nothing better than a percolator and I'm going to do that with the bag of coffee I have.  That aroma is out of this world!

I liked them well enough, but much prefer Raisin Bran or Shredded Mini Wheat.  Wish I could eat Captain Crunch or Frosted Flakes like the old days....just too sweet now.

I had forgotten about this thread.  This latest one should go well with the Flakes knife.  I went back and read the pages from before.  Best wishes.  Gary

I almost didn't buy it as I thought I had it, but IMR4198 you're right the former one was with flakes on the scale.

Good find, Lisa! :tu: I used to enjoy Grape-Nuts. Though they were just about completely devoid of flavor, they still had great crunch even if you drowned them in a half-pint of milk.

Maybe Lisa will buy a box of Grape Nuts now?  She did buy the Grape Nuts Flakes.  They are not alike.  My favorite as a child was the Kellogg's Variety Pack.  You got 10 tiny boxes of cereal.  Different kinds.  They even made them so you could rip the side out of a box and pour your milk right in.  Eat it straight out of the small package.  I think they are still around.
I liked Kellogg's Frosted Flakes.  They were GREAT just like Tony Tiger said they were.  Later on, I preferred regular corn flakes. My favorite now is Cream of Wheat, but it is a bother to cook.  Plus, I can't bring myself to wash up a cooking pot while I am still deciding whether I am alive or not in the morning.
I wonder if there is a Post Toasties knife?  Could be.
Best wishes,
Gary

I remember those. Sometimes I would be given a pack as a special treat during the school holidays. Made breakfast time so much more exciting!
