Yezz, tis I playing the tunes. However, as I have already explained to Mr Nick, my joints are f*cked and I don't really play at the moment sadly.  :(

I did do it professionally for a long time and I'm missing it... *sigh*

Bugger indeed! I'm also a jewellery maker and qualified carpenter so losing motor skills in the fingers is a big joke all round!

I have been completely absorbed in this song for the past few months: Coleman Hawkins playing Body and Soul in 1939.

It is historically signifcant recording because it is the first time that the record mainly consists of just a long improvised solo, with the original song melody barely making an appearance.

Regardless of that, I just find it some really soulful and inspired playing. This recording was to sax players what "Stairway to Heaven" was to guitarists in the 70s.
