I wish LM would start to make smaller tools again like upgraded versions of the Squirt and Juice, but I am more understanding of the prices. I live in the West and used to live in the PNW where they are. Everything is more expensive for them and me. And I think it' s important to buy American where  I can and that's going mean paying more than for Chinese or foreign sourced tools usually. To me it's worth it to buy American.

I think Leatherman is going in the wrong direction, because prices are going up, but the quality of the materials is being lowered. For example, with the sheaths, before they were made of leather, made in the USA, while now it's nylon made in China.

"Premium pricing" means "Premium quality". Can you imagine a Hermès handbag made on an assembly line with Chinese plastic?

If leatherman made tools by hand, with premium materials, they could claim to be "higher quality" than the others, and justify their prices as such. After all, there is always someone, somewhere, who want to buy a handbag for the price of a car.

By increasing the price of their products, Leatherman is depriving itself of a quantity of buyers, who will no longer be able to afford an MT Leatherman, and they (Leatherman) will have to replace the quantity of buyers, with the high price of the lesser quantity they sell. This cannot be done without a significant increase in the quality of the materials used, and the robustness of the products, which means a bigger cost to make their products...

My 2 cents ;)

I do miss those old 154CM wire cutters, those things would last for ages and cut like a dream, the new cutters on my arc feel so much worse in comparison

You can always buy replacement cutters from Leatherman, that's what they want - to make a worse quality cutters so that customers will buy it again and again.

Or buy some aftermarket cutters, of even worse quality.

Does that mean you are buying AWL the new colors the MICRA that were just introduced this week.

And, that you have REBAR in AWL its color flavors and the BOND as well?
