Power Pint keeps opening in my pocket.
on: March 03, 2026, 09:57:42 PM
As the title says, my Power Pint keeps opening in my pocket. The other day I reached in there and found it fully splayed open.  Probably doing this because I'm working a counter lately so I'm doing a lot of up and down, sitting and standing, or leaning forward while remaining seated.  I may resort to a Ranger Band to keep it closed.  Does anyone have any other solutions for this? Thanks for the assist.

Yes. Two very small neodymium magnets glued (or not) on the black lock.
Works perfectly. You might even want to try one, two makes it a bit hard to open.

That's my solution too.

Magnets! Yes. That would work.  I had the tool in the back corner of my left front pocket so the handle without the pocket clip was unsupported and would rotate forward.  For now, I have simply moved the tool to the front corner of my left front pocket so the handle without the pocket clip now is supported against the front of the pocket and has no place to go.  If I can still get my hand in my pocket, and easily access the other items in my pocket, and get used to the new position, it will stay there and it will be fine.  If I can't get used to the new position, I'll have to order some magnets.  Thanks, awl. :salute:

Fifth pocket also works very well for the PP if you sport one.

This isn't a pocket solution Alan, but it may help: one of my pp's is very loose so I clip it to the inside of my belt (clip facing outwards) and against a belt loop, and this is a. comfortable and b. keeps the pp from opening.

Second option from me is a simple slip .
Hobby stores normally have small packages of scrap remnant leather for sale.  Last time I bought some I got a decent assortment of colors and sizes that were perfect for small projects.  At under $10.00, I made several different things.

I always wondered why the Power Pint doesn't have a lock like the Power Litre does. I like the lock very much.
