Jetbeam Jet-III Military Titanium
on: February 13, 2009, 03:45:41 AM
Just got this light in!  I'm so stoked!

First off, I think JetBeam makes some of the best looking lights in the business, especially the Jet-II and IIIs.  I missed the last run of JetBeam's Ti flashlights.  But without going through all the differences between the last Ti JetBeam and this latest one, I'd just like to express that I'm glad I missed the last run.
So here's my brief, un-CPF review of this light is great.  The body is made entirely out of grade 5/6Al-4V titanium  Even tactical swith is made out of titanium!  Now how cool is that!

The finish is a nice satin finish that hasn't been polished to my knowledge, but the machine marks are very faint.  There's some diamond knurling on the body that makes the light quite grippy, but without being too rough on your pockets.  Looks nice too.

The LED used is an R2, so as expected, the flashlight is a very bright white.  I do wish they had offered a warmer LED in this light.  This light was also designed for throw.  The smooth reflector keeps the hotspot very tight.  The beamshot shows your typical dreaded Cree rings.  There's an available OP relector for this light that I may ended picking up.

The top pic is a picture of the beamshot of the Jet-III Military Ti, and below is a beamshot of a flashlight with a beautiful beam.  The Bitz.

Overall, I am very happy with the light.  Makes a great light for the nightstand.  If you're looking for a great light, I highly recommend the Jet-III Military.  For extra bling, cough up the dough for the Ti version, if you still can.

Can we get some more pictures please? I'd like to see a straight side-on shot if you've got one. :)

Nope, it's the round protrusion on the back of the flashlight.  The square thing is just a design.  On some of the Jet-IIIs, it's an "X".

Ahh, I understand now. (I had read where you said even the switch was titanium, and so somehow thought it was the square dealy on the side) ::)
