Surge pivot question

Hi , am i right in thinking that the Surge and Wave handle pivots differ in that the Waves are captive ( D shaped ) and the Surge isn't and can just spin ?

Just tested Surge pivot and it spins around, while Wave ones doesnt spin freely around. So i would say Surge pivot screws are round (didnt open screws to verify this)
